**Shrishti's POV**
It was a crisp morning in St. Petersburg, and the sun had barely risen over the horizon, casting a golden glow across the city. I decided to take a walk to clear my mind, the events of the past few days weighing heavily on me. The streets were quiet, and I found solace in the serenity.
As I strolled through the park near my apartment, I noticed an elderly woman struggling to cross the street. Her frail frame and hesitant steps reminded me of my grandmother, and I felt a pang of concern. Quickening my pace, I moved to help her.
"Let me assist you, ma'am," I said gently, offering my arm.
She smiled gratefully, her eyes twinkling with warmth. "Thank you, dear. It's kind of you."
As we reached the other side of the street, a car suddenly sped around the corner, its engine roaring. My heart leapt into my throat as I realized it was heading straight for us. Without thinking, I pushed the elderly woman out of the way, throwing myself to the ground in the process.
The car screeched to a halt just inches from where we had been standing. The driver, a masked figure, glanced at us briefly before speeding away. My heart pounded in my chest as I helped the woman to her feet.
"Are you okay?" I asked, my voice trembling.
She nodded, tears streaming down her face. "Thank you, dear. You saved my life."
Before I could respond, a black SUV pulled up beside us, and Rajwardhan Rathod stepped out, his expression a mix of anger and concern. He rushed to the elderly woman, gently holding her arm.
"Mother, are you alright?" he asked, his voice strained.
Mother? The realization hit me like a ton of bricks. This was Rajwardhan's mother. The woman I had just saved from being hit by a car.
"I'm fine, Rajwardhan. Thanks to this young lady," she said, glancing at me with gratitude.
But Rajwardhan's gaze was cold as he turned to me. "What were you thinking, getting involved like that? You could have gotten her killed!"
His words stung, and I felt tears prick at the corners of my eyes. "I was trying to help. The car came out of nowhere."
He stepped closer, his eyes burning with anger. "You should have stayed out of it. You have no idea what you're dealing with."
His harsh tone and the intensity of his glare left me speechless. I had just risked my life to save his mother, and instead of gratitude, I was met with scorn.
"Rajwardhan, she saved me," his mother interjected, her voice firm. "You should be thanking her, not scolding her."
He looked at her, his expression softening slightly, but his anger was still evident. "Let's get you home, Mother."
As he helped her into the SUV, I stood there, feeling a mixture of hurt and frustration. Just when I thought I might be getting through to him, he lashed out, pushing me away.
