For our very first interview, we're excited to feature EnamiDah, the author of 'Mystical Realm,' a novel following Zuri's quest to rescue her mother in a fantastical world. We delve into the inspirations behind this enchanting tale, where danger, magical creatures, and breathtaking landscapes come together to highlight our author's imaginative storytelling and themes of courage and familial bonds.

Can you share a bit about yourself and how your journey as a writer began?

I dream a lot and always have tons of ideas. I daydream while listening to music, imagining myself as the main character in fantastical adventures. These daydreams and my love for music inspire the stories I write. I'm in my twenties and an adrenaline junkie. I love activities that get my heart racing, like skydiving, paragliding, scuba diving, and go-karting. The thrill and excitement from these adventures keep me energized and inspired. I also enjoy reading books; 'Harry Potter' is my favorite, but I also like a good self-development book.

1. When writing your book "Mystical Realm", what emotions or thoughts were most prevalent? How did these influence the narrative or characters?

I can really relate to Zuri, my main character in 'Mystical Realm.' As the story unfolds, her self-discipline and caring nature become more apparent, especially around those she trusts. Like her, I believe true selves emerge when we're comfortable with others, revealing deeper layers of our personalities.

2. What was the weirdest or most unexpected thing you discovered while researching for your book?

One of the most unexpected things I discovered while researching for my book was delving into ancient folklore about mystical creatures like Griffins, legendary guardians of gold treasures for royalty. I also found fascinating details, like Hyperion, the tallest tree in California, which sparked my imagination and influenced how I envisioned the natural wonders in my story.

3. What's the quirkiest writing habit or superstition you have?

I feel like I have two personas: the author who comes up with ideas and the reader who gets excited when I read the chapters once they're published, almost like I didn't write them! It's a bit quirky but makes the process really fun.

4. If you could magically transport yourself into any scene from your book, which one would it be and what would you do there?

I have so many good scenes I'd love to teleport to, but if I really had to choose, it would be Chapter 15, 'Journey into Mystery.' In this chapter, Zuri embarks on a discovery journey with an ogre, meeting various mystical creatures and witnessing the wonders of the Mystical Realm. She forms a true bond with a creature, even after being banished by her race. It's a scene filled with magic, adventure, and heartfelt connections.

5. Imagine your book is being made into a movie. Who would you cast as the lead roles, and why?

I'd love to cast nameless actors for the lead roles. I think it helps keep viewers fully immersed in the story and allows them to connect deeply with the characters' development without any preconceived notions from other works.

6. What's the most unexpected place you've found inspiration for a story or character?

Growing up, we used to have a lot of picnics in the forest. I always found inspiration in the trees and the lake surrounding them. My imagination would go wild as my siblings and I created and acted out scenarios. The combination of the forest and good fantasy music takes me as well far away to a Mystical Realm.

7. Share a line from your book that still makes you laugh or smile every time you read it.

I loved the scene in Chapter 15, 'Journey into Mystery,' where Zuri's journey with the ogre comes to an end. She tells him she has to go back to Earth because her family is waiting for her, which makes the ogre very sad. To comfort him, she relates by saying she has a little brother waiting for her, just like the ogre, who was raised by his older brother after their parents were killed and captured. It's a touching moment that always makes me smile.

8. Looking back on your writing career so far, what achievement are you most proud of, and why?

'Mystical Realm' is my first baby, and I'm incredibly proud of it. I still can't believe I've reached Chapter 21, with each chapter having over 2,000 words. My focus is on completing this book, and I aim to update my work each week by adding at least one new chapter.

9. What can readers expect from you next? Are there any upcoming projects or ideas you're excited to share?

After finishing 'Mystical Realm,' I plan to publish it and start a book series, with 'Mystical Realm Part 1' being the first installment. I'm really excited to continue expanding this world and sharing more of Zuri's adventures with my readers.

10. Any tips for aspiring writers?

Write daily and read often to improve your skills and find inspiration. Embrace feedback, edit thoroughly, and don't give up. Join a writer's community for support, and always believe in your unique voice.

11. Is there anything you'd like to say to your fans/readers?

To my readers, thank you for embarking on this magical journey with me. Your support lights up the path through the 'Mystical Realm.' I hope my stories continue to enchant and inspire you. Stay tuned for more wondrous adventures, and never let the magic of your dreams fade!
