INTRO : Can you share a bit about yourself and how your journey as a writer began?
So I am high school student. I started my wrong journey when I was in 4th grade . That time I wrote a poetry for my mom and since then I started to write poetry.
Later on when I was in 11th, I suddenly wanted to write some stories. So I thought to give it a try and eventually I found people liking it after I published them on Wattpad.1. Share a book quote that inspires you as a writer or resonates with you personally.
So I am not much into reading but there is quote by APJ Abdul Kalam sir which says "God helps only those who do hard work "
And I also get inspired by his another quote which is "The one who waits for destiny get only that much which is left by the ones who work hard to achieve"2. What's the most challenging aspect of being an author for you?
So the most challenging aspect for me personally is promotion. Like I know that my story line is different but then getting readers is something which is most challenging part for me.
3. What's the most unexpected place you've found inspiration for a story or character?
The most unexpected place would be a street. Like once I was going somewhere and I saw a picture in the banner and that when I got an idea for the story and later on I wrote the book called "Beyond my Mask".
4. What's the most unusual or interesting hobby you have outside of writing?
So I have lot of hobbies, like dancing, singing, acting, cooking, boxing , I am a national level player as well and many things. But the most unique I would say is being multilingual and my dance. Like I know 7-8 languages and the dance. It doesn't matter if I have practice or not you show me the dance for once and I can do that the very next second exactly same.
5. What inspired you to write this particular book, and how did your personality shape the direction of the narrative?
So there was a drama which my mom used to like. So once I was sitting beside her and I saw one episode and it clicked in my mind that why the female is so weak over here. That's when I got an idea for such story.
6. If you could choose any celebrity to narrate the audiobook version of your book, who would it be and why?
If I talk about this internationally as I am a big fan of BTS and I have seen how well they could narrate the story ofcourse I would choose them. But if I talk about a celebrity from my country then I would rather choose sir Amitabh Bacchan.
He is amazing at this already and his father was a poet. His voice is used several times for the narration in many movies.7. Describe a scene or chapter in your book that was particularly challenging to write. How did you approach it?
Chapter 31 was most challenging for me, because in that I had to show everyone's reactions and there was lot of drama and then connecting things to past and then immediately coming back to present. So I can say that was a little difficult to write.
8. Share a line from your book that still makes you laugh or smile every time you read it.
So there is this scene in which female protagonist is in the little cute argument which is actually in playful manner. She says "Why do I have to do things for you" and to this her best friend says "Because I made you my best friend to make you do the things which I want to but I am lazy to do so". Also there are lot of scenes where my female protagonist roast people around her in a friendly manner so that makes me laugh. Where as in the end of my very first chapter I added a quote saying
"Admire someone's beauty without questioning your own"
This one makes me smile every time I read it.
9. How do you typically approach character development, and do any of your characters reflect aspects of your own personality?
Well Ridhima is little bit like me. She respects people only till they do and when they cross the limits she give them the worst reply ever possible.
Just like me she is kind of cute , funny and crazy but on the very next second she is bold , baddie and dangerous person.
Talking about character development I don't do much. I just see if this person or the character fits according to my imagination and satisfaction or not. If not then for me it's high time do little changes in the characters.
10. Any tips for aspiring writers?
Tips for the writers is that try to put yourself into the characters. No matter if it's male or female, position or negetive just put yourself into the characters and then live that scene before writing it . You will be amazed to see the difference after you write it. Also I would suggest to be patient. In my initial days I never got good amount of readers and that made me disheartened so I would just say just do your work and let the people decide.
11. Is there anything you'd like to say to your fans/readers?
To my readers I would just say thank you so much for your precious time that have to me and I love you all so much. Whatever reads and votes I have and whatever I am is all because of you .
