Fair Game

Maddie's POV

"You DID!" Brooke squirmed, she got excited just because Josh and I kissed on our date on the weekend. "Brooke. Stop." I glared at her, "I never really liked Chloe Lukasiak anyway" she folded her arms at my locker. Chloe was right behind me when those words came out of Brooke's mouth, "You know, the gossip queen of the school. My own sister, Paige Hyland, tweeted about your kiss." Brooke laughed. I slammed my locker shut and I gave her my death glare, she didn't take it seriously so I grabbed her wrist and dragged her to Paige's locker.

"Hey Paige" I said kindly whilst Brooke was trying to loosen my grip, Paige stared at me for a second and said "You are luckiest girl in school! I tweeted about!" Paige walked away with a spring in her step. I grabbed her shoulder and let go of Brooke's wrist, "Fine! Hurt me all you want! I know you're angry at me." Paige put both hands the air. "You shouldn't have! That's confidential information!" I shouted-whispered in her ear, Brooke was licking her wrist because of how hard I was holding on to her. "Fine, let's play a fair game. My birthday is coming up and I want a Louis Vuitton handbag. If you get that for me...I'll just say the kiss was fake." Paige grinned at me like the Cheshire Cat, Brooke took a step back away from me. "Deal" I shook hands with Paige and walked to Cooking class with Brooke.

Chloe screamed. Blood was pouring out of her left leg. Everyone was panicking. The head chefs tried to help her but they couldn't, a girl went to find the school nurse but she was nowhere to be found. Brooke walked in from using the toilet and asked me "What's going on!"
"Chloe, being Chloe, was using the chef's knife to cut the veg, dropped the knife and ended up making a long slit in her left leg" I said casually. Brooke shrugged her shoulders and walked out like nothing was wrong! The nurse ran into the room with disinfectant spray, a syringe, thread and a needle. "IT'S ABOUT TIME YOU CAME!" The head chefs glared at the average nurse. Soon after Chloe was in the hospital and we had to clean up her mess, most of the class were muttering under their breath about how much they hate Chloe now. I also heard one person say "She's such a slut". I kinda felt bad for her but it's true, Chloe has dated 24 guys since she started high school.

"You'll be fine! She's special! Unlike that Lukasiak girl" Josh's friend said, I was walking home from school and I was a few metres away from Josh and his gang of friends. I got nervous and patted my hair down because it was in a terrible mess from Chloe's leg injury. I felt like I should go up to him.

But I didn't.
