I waived the group off for their newest adventure. I couldn't get Garroth's words out of my mind though. After he told me how he felt, he walked me back home. I didn't have much time to respond, and he didn't seem to want one. Seeing them walk away scared me a little. But I knew they would woukd return from this trip. They had to.

"Are you Alright Y/n?" Travis asked, placing a hand kn my shoulder.

"Yes. Of course," I said, still staring out at where they disappeared to.

Garroth, Katelyn, and Aphmau gone... Not to mention Vylad and Laurance. I was starting to feel a but lonely.

"Don't worry Travis, I'll see to her. Come on sweetheart, perhaps we can practice some magicks," Lucinda said, taking me away.

Lucinda took me to an area outside of the gates. She teleported some materials to us, and set up a small picnic. We sat out there together. It had been some time since we had been able to be around each other like this.

"I miss it too," Lucinda said, seemingly able to read my mind. "Those peaceful days we spent together. Prior to everyone being back, and the settlement in Pheonix Drop."

I sighed, letting go of my held breaths.

"I don't miss how much you lost though. After their disappearance. Remember you haven't lost them. It's just a small trip," Lucinda said.

"To O'khasis," I said, riddled with fear for them.

I was scared. For their safety, and for the fact it was once Garroth's home. Vlyad's home... He wasn't even given a chance to go back with Laurance being out of commission.

"They'll be okay. You have to remember how much they've all been through. They can handle themselves," Lucinda said, grasping onto my hand.

I took a deep breath, and looked at Lucinda, trying to be more present in the moment.

"Now that's more like it," she smirked.

I giggled at her joke. Lucinda did always know how to cheer me up.

"See, that's what I like to see. When you let loose and take a moment to enjoy things," she smiled.

Lucinda had seen me at some of lowest of lows. While she might not have seen some of the things Nicole or Zoey had, she still had witnessed her fair share.

"Y/n," she called. "I miss you, more than anything else. I miss us. Being here with you."

Her eyes shone in a special little way. Her smile going from ear to ear. Her hand placed itself below my chin. She held me there for a moment, analyzing every part of me, seemingly incase she never got to again. Her breath slowed, and we synced in rhythm. She closed the gap between us by wrapping her arm around my waist and pulling toward her. She kissed me longingly. It could feel the fire in her spark as she kissed me. Her arms held me tightly in place. She pulled back ever so slightly to look me in the eye.

"This is all I want now Y/n. I'll fight a hundred wars to have you. I'll wait as long as you need me to. This is what matters. Not reclaiming Pikoro, not revenge. None of it. Because you are all that matters. I'll even try getting along with my mother if it means having you," Lucinda explained. "I know youhave a decision. And I will wait. I'm in it for the long game. But I do so love to be a winner, ecspecially if you are the prize."

"Lucinda-" I said, my blush consuming me.

Lucinda kissed me again.

"Just remember that sweetheart? I'm not going anywhere," she explained.

Lucinda and I spent a while laying out in the forest, enjoying the peace and quiet. When we got home we looked into ways we could help Aph. We decided that when they returned, we would treat her to a spa day out in the springs near the new settlement.

I worked on creatin better pathways throughout the new settlement, if I couldn't find a way to help Aphmau with connecting with her past, I could at least get the settlement to a better state.

"Need a hand there?" Travis asked.

"From the guy who couldn't build a house?" I joked.

He chuckled, "Maybe I can be a bit better with paths."

He helped me shape the paths throughout the settlement. After we finished up, Travis and I made our way back to my house to cool off. It had been sunny skies which was good in some ways, and not so fun in others. We sat down with some lemonade, looking out the window at the town.

"You know, I never quite felt at home on my island, but I never felt like I could leave. But now. Here it feels more like home. I guess you're the one I have to thank for that," Travis smiled at me.

"Travis, you know it's-" I started.

"Y/n, I want you to know that just because we have a tie from your old life, doesn't invalidate who I am. Or what I feel for you," he said. "I know it may make it more intense, but I truly do admire you."

I sat in silence staring at my cup.

"We may not have known each other long, but I... I can't even describe it," he thought aloud.

"I know Travis," I tried to help.

I did. I knew what Enki wanted. I knew what he promised. And Travis delievered exactly what he had promised.

"I just want to be upfront. I don't want to wait around forever to tell you I want you. It's like a craving. Like a lemonade at the end of workday," he explained. "I feel love for you, from every beautiful square inch of you to the way you handle each and everything you ben through."

"Thank you Travis," I said.

He leaned over, "And I really do mean beautiful. Somehow, even after working in the dirt, you are the most gorgeous woman I have ever seen."

He kissed my cheek up near my ear, and when I turned toward him, he kissed my lips. He was soft and gentle, but still full of want and desire. And when he pulled back, he stared in my eyes for a moment, smiling at me. After a moment, he kissed the tip of my nose. I giggled at his repeated kisses, which only made him cover my face in more. He was so sweet about his feelings for me, even if he meant it all on a deeper level.
