Chapter 48

At Lakshmi Narayan Chawl, Delhi
Day : Monday (02 June, 2024)

Alia smiled to herself. This is it, a perfect plan, whoever planned it was a mastermind. Oh wait, she didn't so she won't compliment either. She hoped it would give a wake up call to Pragya. Losing someone dear would surely hurt.

Mitali, saw her smiling. "She has gone mad probably." Not having the energy to deal with Alia, Mitali went in to sit with Pallavi and Dida. She noticed them stopping their conversation mid-way seeing her. This was weird to her. Everyone's behaviour had changed a lot.

Abhi had already left for his office while Rhea and Ranbir went to college.

At NMISS College, Delhi

The last semester exams were about to start next week. And Prachi was all set to be the topper again, after all she studied day and night for this. Aryan and Shahana on the other hand, who knew what those crackheads were doing.

Shaking her head she continued to read her notes. A hand wrapped around her shoulder and she turned her head to see Kunal stuffing his mouth with a samosa.

Prachi - Oh god !! Samosa ? Again ?

Kunal - Last one I promise

Prachi - You're impossible !

Kunal shrugged and Prachi slapped her forehead. Suppressing a laugh, she took her phone. Message from Rehaan. The notification read, Prachi for once knew he had either caused some trouble or was coming to India again.

"Prachi I'm coming back soon. And don't tell that chipkali Shahana let it be a surprise !"

Chipkali ? Prachi laughed at the new nickname. Getting up from her place she bid a goodbye to Kunal.

She had to reach home early. Atleast today.

Raisinghania Mansion, Delhi

Roshni locked herself in her room. What was even happening ? Her and Sid were always arguing with each other. And now it had been the limit. The words he said today still rang clearly in her mind and she wished they didn't.

"You know what Roshni ?! Let's just postpone this engagement till you get your mess together !! Now please leave me alone !!"

Sure she was furious as well but did she ever say that. No she didn't so how could he ? She tried to console herself with the fact that he had postponed it but didn't break it off. Was that a good thing or bad ? If he could postpone it then he could very well break it.

That made her uneasy, but if he wanted to postpone it fine then she wasn't going to beg him to get engaged. Her self respect was more important to her. Let Siddharth Raisinghania go to wherever he wants Roshni won't stop him now.

Arya knocked on her door again. For a moment Roshni realised that she had been here for last two hours. Quickly wiping her face she opened the door.

Arya - Bhabhi what is bhai saying ?!

Roshni - Yeah actually that engagement thing ?

Arya - Yes why postpone it at the last moments ? You guys were so excited !

As if on que Nitya walked up the stairs towards them. Roshni felt her body go stiff, yet she didn't want to say anything rude.

Nitya - I heard about that too. Maybe we should talk to Sid jiju I'm sure he will listen !

Arya - My brother isn't listening to any of us ! He even declined when mom requested.

Roshni wanted nothing more than to laugh at Nitya's face and ask her if she was happy now. Taking everything away from her.

Downstairs,

Prachi and Pankti were talking to each other in hushed tones. Sid was getting annoyed and got up to leave.

Prachi - Do you think they fought ?

Pankti - What else have they done in the last few weeks ? They are either shouting or glaring at each other.

Prachi - I swear they need to sort up. This is getting out of hands.

Pankti - Bhai isn't ready to listen. There is nothing we can do now.

Considering Pankti's words Prachi nodded her head in agreement. They should not mix up in this situation it might grow more complicated. 

Avantika went to Roshni's room.

Avantika - Roshni see all I'm saying is do something.

Roshni - What should I do ? Beg him to marry me ? No thank you.

Avantika - I am not asking you to do anything of that sorta. Just think rationaly don't take any decision you regret later on.

Roshni - Tell this all to him !! Not me !!

In Pragya's Room,

This family would turn her crazy one day for sure. Something is always going on here. She, Vansh and Meera tried their very best to make amends for everything. But nothing worked.

Pragya - You guys realise I saw Alia following me yesterday. That woman is planning something.

Vansh - Can our lives ever be normal ?

Meera - Nope. But can the problems come one by one and not all together ?

Pragya - Never Meera.

Vansh - What now ?

Pragya - Now we are gonna do this......

At Lakshmi Narayan Chawl, Delhi

Abhi arrived home from work. He saw everyone sitting together tensed. Pallavi however looked relaxed compared to others. Alia saw him and motioned him pick the file on the floor.

Abhi - Divorce papers ?

Alia - Yes

Abhi - Who's divorce ?

Pallavi - Rhea and Ranbir's. They don't wanna take this relationship ahead.

For some reason Pallavi sounded happy. Like she would smile any second now.

Abhi - But why ?! They loved each other !!

Dida - Loved. They don't now and if they wish to separate who are we to stop.

Abhi - Marriage isn't a joke dida. Call Rhea I'll talk some sense into her.

Alia went to get Rhea. A while later both the ladies entered.

Abhi - Rhea what is this ?

Rhea - Look dad I don't wish to stay with Ranbir anymore. It's my decision. He and I can't ever be happy together.

Abhi - What are you saying ?! You wanted to marry him first and now divorce suddenly !! Why ?!

Rhea - I'm a legal adult and I can take my decisions !! Let us live for god's sake !! And Ranbir why are you sitting silently say something damn it !

Ranbir glanced at everyone and rubbed his face.

Ranbir - Chief, Rhea is right. We can't stay together in a relation. I don't want to and she doesn't as well.

Abhi - But why ?! Give me one good reason !!

Rhea - And I think it's none of your business !!

Abhi was shocked, Rhea never talked to him like that even after knowing everything she still respected him atleast. But now he could see the clear hate in her eyes. What had he done to deserve this ?
