"Okay, class, listen up!" the teacher calls out, clapping her hands to capture the students' attention. "There appears to be a large number of students' parents complaining that the education system isn't how it used to be anymore, so the school decided to bring back a project that was commonly done by the previous generation," the teacher explains, rummaging through a drawer until she finds her wanted item.

"This is insanely stupid," Christopher mumbles to Kody, crossing his arms in irritation. "Why is this necessary? The world is changing; what's the point in bringing back the past?" Christopher grumbles, running a hand through his hair.

"Chill out, man. I agree that it's a bit dumb, but we can't blame them for wanting to honor the past, can we?" Kody says, a smirk playing on his lips. He found it hilarious when Chris got mad over literally nothing. He wasn't worried; he knew he could calm him down regardless.

"So, the project will be... taking care of a baby!" the teacher exclaims rather enthusiastically, pulling a humanoid robot baby from the drawer she had been looking into for the last minute. "The Computer Science and Art divisions in the organization worked hard on these, so their quality is through the roof! They function just like actual babies: they use the restrooms, so you'll need to change their diapers; they need to be fed; they cry; and they need love! You'll need to care for them for a week. Find a partner, and if the entire class is struggling, then I'll assign them myself!"

"Uhm... I don't know anybody here properly enough to just... ask," Delilah whispers to Damien, biting her bottom lip in focus as she looks around for a partner.

"Since when was I invisible?" Damien chuckles, waving a hand in front of her face to break her focus.

"I thought you might've picked somebody else. Glad you didn't, though; I would've been screwed," Delilah says, a sigh of relief escaping her as her stress dissipates.

"Who else would I have picked? You're the perfect partner. Besides, Kody and Chris are best friends, so they're obviously partners for everything, and William and Ophelia are in some sort of whatevership, so they're automatically partners, too. Not that you wouldn't be my first choice; you obviously are," Damien giggles, wrapping an arm around Delilah's shoulder.

"What about your crush? I expected you to ask her," Delilah questions, patting his hand as it squeezes her shoulder.

"Oh, God, no. I'm way too nervous for that. She's got one of her little music band friends in this class, and regardless, I'd be too scared," Damien confesses, letting go of Delilah's shoulder and stretching out on his seat.

The rank 1 dorm was in chaos as soon as the project started.

As soon as Delilah walked into the common room, cradling her baby, the noise deafened her.

"WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO THE POOR BABY?!" Ophelia sobs, weakly punching William on the arm.

"I didn't even do much! Why are you crying?! You know I don't know what to do when you cry!" William panics, quickly taking her hands to stop her soft yet relentless abuse of him.

"YOU LITERALLY HACKED INTO THE BABY AND CODED IT NOT TO HAVE NEEDS! IT'S NOT OUR BABY ANYMORE!" Ophelia sobs, sniffling and taking shaky breaths.

"It's not a real baby-! Fine, fine... I'll fix it, okay? I'm sorry," William says, hugging her gently.

"Okay... And no more putting it in the freezer! It's not a chunk of ice cream!" Ophelia scolds, pouting and wiping her tears as William sits her down on the couch.

"Yes, Miss. I sincerely apologize," William teases, picking up their fresh-out-the-freezer baby. He ruffled Ophelia's hair gently before heading to his room to fix the baby's code, a smile threatening to spread across his face as Ophelia's pout remained fixed in position.

"Well... that was something," Delilah murmurs, turning to face a grinning Damien. "What're you so happy about?"

"They're adorable, aren't they?" Damien chuckles, his eyes practically shining.

"You're definitely their biggest supporter, alright..." Delilah acknowledges, rocking her baby as it starts to get fussy and whiny.

"As much as I'd love to chat about how cute those two would be together, I think I hear a crying baby from Chris's room. Go check on him for me, will 'ya, sweetheart? I'll keep an eye on the little... robot thing for you," Damien says, snatching the baby from Delilah.

"Do I really have to? I mean... Christopher's terrifying, and I don't know if I trust you with our baby."

"Please? He's harmless, promise. He'd never hurt a woman, not an innocent one, anyway. I'll see 'ya later!" Damien replied before taking off into his room, laughing quietly to himself as he shut the door.
