"...What're you doing here?" William interrogated, his eyes narrowing as he stood up. His voice had a slight shakiness to it—one it usually never had.
"Non posso divertirmi dopo la morte?" The man stepped out of the shadows, a grin playing across his lips as he stepped closer to William. Ti sono mancata? Sarei deluso se lo facessi. Siete ancora dipendenti dagli altri? E' debole da parte tua..." the man sighed, still grinning
"...Shut it already. Answer my question," William demanded, his expression cracking to show an emotion Delilah had never seen him display before; hurt.
Her breath caught in her throat as they locked eyes. His eyes were a deep green, his hair matched the logs surrounding them, and his skin was quite tan. Not an organization fellow, Delilah quickly deduced, her heart rate slowing down.
The man approached her in long strides, his smile only widening as he stood inches from her. "You're not from the organization, are you? I'm Matteo, and you are?"
Before Delilah could answer, William approached and grabbed Matteo by the shoulder, yanking him back. "Toglile le mani di dosso. Vattene. Non abbiamo bisogno di te qui," William warns. Delilah didn't understand what he had said, but he wasn't playing around anymore.
For once, he wasn't stoic, so this must've been serious.
"Still feisty, are we? I only wanted to have a word with her. I'll go, but... I'd like to know if the girl's interested in coming with," Matteo chuckled, though his eyes were full of malice as he stared William down.
"...I'll think it over," Delilah muttered, letting out a sigh as she crossed her arms defensively.
The man scanned the group of teenagers for a moment before sighing again. "Tough crowd... I'll be on my way. See you soon, pup," he winked at Delilah, waving as he stumbled back into the bushes.
"That was him, wasn't it?" Ophelia realized, her eyes wide in shock.
"Mhm. I knew they didn't look hard enough," William concluded, running a hand through his hair as he calmed himself down.
"Didn't know you spoke whatever that language was," Christopher teased, "only makes you more of a geek."
"Shut your trap. You spoke it too, y'know."
"What?" Christopher questioned, his expression filled with confusion.
"...Forget it. Let's get moving."
