2.Relations

Everyone was shocked to see the person. Not shocked as everyone expected him to be here, but shocked by his anger. Saurav slowly mumbled,

"Yuvi."

Behind him stood Suresh Raina with an emotionless face, which was unusual as everyone knew Sonu was so sweet towards everyone. Yuvi made his way towards the room. Upon entering the room, he said,

"Wow, Mr. Saurav Ganguly, what made you take such a decision?"

Saurav clearly knew what decision he was talking about, but still, he asked, "What are you talking about?"

Yuvi rolled his eyes in annoyance.

"Oh, Dada, you clearly know what I am talking about. Stop acting like a fool."

"Our team has been lacking in performance lately. So I thought it would be a better option for everyone to gather here and make a team based on fitness," Saurav explained.

"We know that, Dada, but we are questioning the decision that made you bring that person back," Sonu interjected this time.

What exactly happened to him? Addressing Mahi as 'that person' was really heartbreaking to Jaddu, Harry, and Dada. Did Sonu also think that Mahi was a traitor? Let's discuss that later.

Saurav kept his mouth shut this time. Just then, Virat said,

"He will not say it, Sonu bhai... I can't imagine the consequences when 'that person' comes here... The whole of India is angry at your decision, Saurav sir... He is a person who... who... betrayed the nation."

Virat choked on his own words. It was still difficult for him to say Mahi's name. His heart broke every time he accused him of being a traitor. Well, if he is a traitor, then why is it so difficult for Virat? Why do his tears form at the mere thought of a person who not only betrayed the nation but also them? Why does he become vulnerable for a person who doesn't love him or care for him?

Rohit, who knew the situation of his best friend, came to him and made him sit in a chair. He knew how vulnerable Virat had become in the absence of that person. Rohit loved him equally as Virat did, but Rohit was mentally stronger. He was the only one who could provide strength to his best friend. There arose a sense of dislike for that person in both of their hearts. It wasn't hate, but they were angry at that person for making him, especially his best friend, vulnerable.

Jadeja, upon hearing the word traitor used for his Mahi bhai, felt anger. He wanted to oppose, he wanted to deny it, but there was no evidence. All the proofs were against him.

Yuvi looked at their coach, who was none other than Rahul Dravid. "Bhai, why are you not saying anything?" Everyone's eyes were now fixed on Rahul.

"What am I supposed to say? It's the decision of the BCCI president, isn't it?" Rahul responded.

Saurav looked at his other friend, Sachin, who turned his head away from him. Saurav knew his friends were angry at his decision, but now his priority was Mahi. His Mahiyaaa... The long-haired kiddo he promised to protect. He knew his Mahiya would never become a traitor. He would rather die than think about it. Mahi was the person who gave his 100% to the nation. He would never think of cheating his own nation. But the evidence against him...

Saurav took a deep breath and said, "Think whatever you want, do whatever you want, but you can't do anything to take back my decision. It's the best decision I made for the country."

Harry and Jaddu couldn't help but feel prouder of Saurav's decision.

"For the country, Mr. Saurav Ganguly? Who would bring back a traitor who cheated the nation again for the country, huh?" Sanjay Manjrekar's voice cut through the tension.

Saurav didn't know why that guy harbored so much hatred towards Mahi. Saurav didn't have answers to his questions. All he knew was that he had to get his kiddo back at any cost and protect him with his life. He didn't want to fail again. He wanted to prove his innocence. But how? He didn't know. The same went for Harry and Jaddu; they wanted to prove their Mahi bhai's innocence. They wanted him near them. Oh God, how much they missed him? How much they missed his care, his love, his scoldings? Mahi was the man who only knew how to love everyone. The occasions he got angry were rare, and if he did, it would not be for himself but for the team, for them. Still, how could others think that he was a traitor? The time when Mahi bhai was with them was the golden era of cricket. It was a time when they acted childish, immature, only in front of their Mahi bhai.

Did Rahul bhai and Sachin paaji think the same? Did they not believe in Mahi bhai like Dada did? That was the question that arose in Hardik's mind.

Rahul didn't know what to believe and what not to. The same went for Sachin. The main question here was, is Mahi a traitor or not? When their minds wanted to believe the news, their hearts said otherwise.

Mahi was not a simple person; he had relations with each and every person in the team.

Sanjay, upon seeing Saurav keeping his mouth shut, smirked internally and felt satisfied.

"Lost for words, Saurav? Already?"

Before Saurav could say something, a voice echoed in the whole room.

"Seems like I'm the topic of your discussions."

The voice was calm, but not as calm as it used to be. It had the power to make their spines shiver.

The voice that everyone in the team missed, directly or indirectly. The voice that was soothing like a lullaby, but now it contained dominance, power, anger, and... hurt?

Everyone looked in that direction. Tears filled the eyes of Saurav, Harry, and Jaddu. Moisture spread in everyone's eyes, excluding Sanjay. The person standing in front of them had unspoken relations with them.

He was their MS, their Mahiya, their Mahi bhai, their Captain Cool, their Mama Bear, their Mahi...
