After Shock

Chapter Six

•••1 week later•••

"I really like this one." Claire said pointing at a wedding dress in the catalog. I shook my head, I don't think a ivory ball gown was my style.
"Sky what about this one?" Lowery said handing me the book over. I invited Lowery, because he was the one who picked out my engagement ring. So it was only natural to invite him to wedding dress picking. I looked at the dress and it took my breathe away; it was a pearl white, sweet heart neckline, mermaid. Even though it was plain, it was perfect.
"Oh my goodness, Lowery! How could you not tell me that you are a fashionista?," I asked nudging him with my elbow, " I love the dress! This is my dress!" I said hugging him. At first he was shocked but them happy. He hugged me back, whilst everyone rushed over and looked at the dress. I let go of Lowery and started to call Owen.
"Hey babe, what's up?"
"I have just found the dress and Lowery picked it out!" I said, I could hear that he was shocked over the phone.
"Really? Anyway have you thought about who is going to walk you down the isle yet?" He asked me, I have some one in mind but I don't know how to ask him. I said good bye to Owen and walked back into the living room. I placed a hand on Lowery's shoulder.
"Could I have a word with you in my room please?" I asked him he nodded and followed me.

I signaled him to sit on the bed next to me, before I could say anything he butted in.
"It's about the dress isn't it. Ah, I should have known you couldn't afford it. I'm sorry."
"Lowery, shut up. It's got nothing to do with that. As you know my father cannot make it to the island, neither can my mother. So I need someone to walk me down the isle. And I was wondering if you could walk me down?" I asked him, I could feel a tear roll down my cheek. He jumped up and hugged me.
"Yes! Yes I would love to do that!" He shouted.

After the wedding dress shopping, Claire and Lowery headed off to Costa Rica to fetch the dress. While they were gone me and Owen decided to spend some quality time together, but I was still wondering about that thing he wanted to tell me.
"Owen, do you remember when we were on the raptor paddock cat walk, and you wanted to tell me something?," I asked, looked at me and nodded," what was it?"
He smiled at me, whilst standing and walking over to me. I smiled back, he kiss me. But then he pulled out a blind fold, and tied it around my head so I could not see.
"Owen what are you doing?"
"Just trust me."
He said guiding me out of the door, then he slapped my ass.
"Oi! How am I going to trust you when you just did that?" I giggled.

We have been driving for a while now. I have tried to ask Owen where we were going, but all I got in reply was silence. Then I heard the car stop, Owen had pulled me out of the car.
"Okay, you ready?"
I nodded, he uncovered my eyes. I stood there in shock, there was a beautiful house siting there. I was a little confused at first, but then I remembered where we were. It was the plot of land Claire had gotten me, Owen must have built this. It was beautiful, it was modern but with a classic twist. I felt Owen's arms wrap around my waist. Then he picked me up, bridal style, and carried me to the front door.
"What's this for?" I giggled.
"Just getting in some practice. Before the big day."

Sky, you there?

Abi's voice came through the walkie talkie. Owen made a silly face, then I picked up and replied.
"Yeah I'm here. What's up?"

Ellie and Zach have gone missing. You need to get here quick!
