After Shock

Chapter Ten

I was searching frantically for Owen, but I just couldn't find him. Where could he be? Then I spotted him, so I jogged over to him. He was with a woman, she had long chocolate brown hair. She was like a model.
"Um... Owen could I have a word with you? In private." He looked up and smiled.
"Yeah sure, but first let me introduce you to Alice. My girlfriend." I could feel my jealously swell up. I held out my hand, and she shook it. I couldn't help it any more. I ran as fast as I could towards the raptor paddock.

I stopped and tried to catch my breathe. Until I heard Owen run up beside me.
"Sky what's wrong? I have never seen you run this fast" he panted.
"You want to know what is wrong? You really want to know?!" I asked him, he nodded leaning on his knees.
"Okay. That day I wanted to talk to you, and you pushed me away. I didn't want to say that we should forget about the kiss! I wanted to say that I loved you. But no, you pushed me away. Now you have a girl friend and we will never happen. So that's what's wrong!" I said in a very loud voice. I couldn't handle looking at Owen right now so I turned away, and headed towards the stairs. He grabbed my arm but I shook him off.
"Sky just wait!" He shouted. So turned to face him.
"You had to tell me this now. Why didn't you tell me this earlier?" He asked still holding my arm.
"Maybe because I didn't have the courage to it back then."
"Still, you knew I had feelings for you. I still do. But now I'm with Alice. God this is so confusing!" He muttered pinching the bridge of his nose. I shook me head.
"Actually it's not that confusing. All you have to do is chose. It's either me or her." I stated running up the stairs. But he didn't follow me this time, he started to walk away. I guess he's made his decision then.

I looked down to be greeted by Jay and Blaze. They were waiting for me to throw down some food.
"You know what? I'm going to leave. No one is going to miss me anyway." I said myself; tears pouring down my face. So I ran down the stairs and hopped in my jeep.

I have nearly finished packing, my room was now like a blank canvas. But there was something missing, but I don't know what.
"Fuck sake! I forgot my passport, at Owen's place." I said in a hushed voice. I had left it there when I was in hospital, Owen had taken my belongings to his house while I was being treated. To make sure they didn't get damaged or stolen. I couldn't leave without my passport so I obviously had to go and fetch it.

I didn't feel like driving so I decided to walk. So I could get some fresh air, and to compose myself before seeing him. I looked down at my phone to see that I had 2 voice mails. So I listened to them, the first one was about my next hospital appointment. But the second one......

Hey... Um, Sky..... I've made my decision and I would like to say it to you face. Meet me at my bungalow soon. Please ring me back. Owen

I bet you he chose her.

It was getting dark, once I reached Owen's house. I slowed down, I could see Owen on the porch. He was wearing a white buttoned up shirt and jeans. This was the first time I saw Owen not in shorts. His hair was in a small quiff, he looked quite attractive. But I couldn't look at him in the same way. He was pacing back and forth muttering to himself.

So I decided to get it over and done with, so I walked towards him. He looked up at me, his eyes piercing into my soul.
"So you got my message?" He asked rubbing the back of his neck.
"Yeah I got it. But I'm not here for that."
"Oh... Okay then"
"I left my passport here, and I really need it." I said pushing past him. But I was stopped by him stepping in front of me.
"What? Where are you going?"
"Home. I'm going home." I walked past him again.
"But Sky I chose..."
"You chose her. I know, it doesn't really matter." I butted in trying to hold back the tears. I turned back around to face him, but instead I was greeted by a kiss. At first I was shocked, but then I gave in. I broke apart.
"Now does that give you the answer?" He chuckled, I nodded biting my lip. He pulled me into a hug, I couldn't help but melt into his arms.
"Sky. Sky. SKY!"
