A hand clasped over my mouth, my eyes widening. Eric put his finger to his lips.
Dakota nodded and covered her mouth, tears filling her eyes. I looked at Eric next to me, whose eyes were transfixed on the creature wreaking havoc.

Chapter three Evacuation Orders and Venturing Out Delilah's POV: I woke up to someone shaking me. I gasped and Eric put a finger to his lips. "Stay silent! Rescues and evacuations will be made. Stay quiet and hidden." An announcement said as helicopters went by. Eric jumped as the aliens ran by. I immediately buried my face into my pillow. Eric scooted closer to me and seemed to scoop me up into his arms. I looked up at him and he grimaced at an alien running on the building across the street. I cupped his cheek and made him look at me. "I-I'm scared. I'm r-really scared." He said softly which was definitely a bit too loud. I shushed him quietly and gave him a hug. He squeezed me and I rubbed his back. I pulled away and looked to my doorway to see Niko standing there. I gasped and I stood up, going to give him a hug. "Alice is in Dakota's room." I said to him. Niko nodded and waved to Eric. Eric waved back and Niko left. I went to sit down next to Eric again. I leaned my head on his shoulder and Eric leaned his head on top of mine. Dakota came into the room, walking over and climbing into Eric's lap. He put his arm around her so she wouldn't fall. He looked at her and she gave him a hug. Eric hugged her back, his large hand going up and down her back. "Are we gonna be ok?" She whispered. Eric nodded and I did the same. Dakota leaned against Eric. Alice walked in with Niko. She held up a notepad.
We don't have any food. We should try to get some.
Eric motioned for the notepad and Alice handed it to him. Eric quickly wrote something down and showed it to the group.
We should stay. The military said to stay
I took it from him and wrote down my answer, revealing it to the group.
We could go to the other house. Uncle Harrison keeps it stocked with food cause he usually goes there to retreat. We just have to be quiet
Niko nodded and grabbed the notepad, making the final decision.
We're going to the Wells House. Grab anything you might need. Dress comfortably and let's try to be quiet and get there. It's safer there as well
Niko and Alice left the room. Dakota got off Eric's lap and asked me if I'd help her. I nodded and stood up. Dakota then grabbed Eric's hand and pulled him with us. I made sure Dakota was dressed comfortably but in clothes that were slightly protective. She wore jeans, a T-shirt and a jacket. I made Eric stay with her and I quickly changed. I grabbed jeans, a tank top and my denim jacket. I grabbed a bag and threw some spare clothes inside along with any medication we had in the cabinets. Eric walked into my room and pointed to his feet and shrugged. He must've grabbed his sport coat from the living room. I grabbed the notepad and then showed it to him.
My uncle might have some shoes. Or slippers. Those are quiet shoes
Eric stifled a chuckle and then took the notepad from me, writing a response.
