Chapter 12

Aaliyah Fangwood POV/;
The next day- At school.

"Where did you go? You scared the shit out of me Leia" said Ava holding onto my shoulders, I told Ava everything and she was fuming after hearing it. "That fucking dirt bag, I'm going to go kill him right now" she said, I shook my head "It's fine melody stepped in before anything happened" I said my heart racing at just the thought of her.

Ava looked at me shocked "The Melody?" She asked "Yeah", "That's surprising" said Ava I raised and eyebrow "how so?" I asked

"Well she's not really the knight in shiny armor type and I've only ever seen her care for the people in her inner circle, no one else" said Ava before squinting her eyes at me "What?" I asked "Answer me honestly Leia, are you related to Melody Rienhart in some way?" She asked "What? No of course not" I replied, Ava leaned back in her chair "Then why?" Ava mumbled to herself.

I sighed I may as well tell her I mean even though I haven't known Ava for long I trust her.

"She's my mate" I said, Ava's eyes went wide, "Mate?!, am I tripping or did you just say mate?" She said loudly causing a few people in the lunch room to look at us. "Shhh! Keep your voice down" I said "Oh right sorry" said Ava in a whisper.

I sighed "Yes she's my mate but I haven't told anyone and I'm pretty sure she hasn't either considering she seems to not like me much" I said. "Oh....Shes rejecting you huh" said Ava my eyes teared up a little bit hearing that. "I- Yes" I admitted with another sigh. "Yeah she's kind of a player around here from what I heard so a mate bond is probably like a prison to someone like her who seems to like being single" Ava explained, hearing that only made me lose hope again.

I looked across the lunch room at Melody who was sitting at a table surrounded by girls smiling and laughing.

She turned her head and we accidentally locked eyes for a moment. I quickly looked away embarrassed that she caught me staring at her. "I have a question though" said Ava gaining my attention "Hm?" I replied "You wouldn't happen to be an omega would you? If so what rank?" Asked Ava.

I was never rank or labeled because I was told that my wolf side was too weak.

I shrugged "I don't know, I was told that my wolf side is too weak to tell" I said Ava looked shocked "Wait your a mix breed?" She asked with wide eyes "Yes, my birth mother was a witch" I said "That's awesome and rare, there hasn't been any mixed breeds around for a long time until recently" she said

Note: ( Mix breeds refers to a wolf mixed with one other species, for example a wolf/witch mix, tribrid refers to a wolf mixed with two other species)

"Yeah they're not really common at all where I come from, it's just another thing for people to hate me for" I said mumbling that last part.

Ava raised an eyebrow and I just smiled before changing the subject. "Anyways the acquaintance of yours, is he your mate?" I asked she smiled "He is" said Ava with a blush "Wow you two looked so close and cute together" I said "Thanks but I actually haven't known him that long, I met him through my cousin and just recently found out he was my mate" she explained as a small blush ran up her face.

It was adorable and I could tell she really liked him, that made me kind of envious.

I wanted that with melody.

I looked over once more at the table but to my surprise she was no longer sitting there. The thought of her probably leaving with one of those girls made my stomach twist.

As I was sitting at the lunch table talking with Theo and the others I heard a familiar voice at the table behind us, it was Ben and he was Boosting to his friends about what happened the other night at that party but instead of telling the truth he was lying.
