landonorris started following you

A random notification like that on a Monday morning after whatever happened last night is completely normal. Right?

Aurora was so giddy for me, after following F1 for a while and ultimately catching up on all the drama with their girlfriends, she knew Lando doesn't just follow anyone. She was sure he didn't follow the girl he was rumoured to be with only a few weeks prior. Which in her eyes could only mean he fancies me. It's just a follow on Instagram. It doesn't mean anything.

Even if I feel that way, Aurora does not match that. She was reciting what she had seen last night and was pouring out all her thoughts about how we would be so cute together, while I was stuck on the fact that I had let something like that happen with my best friend's teammate. I am royally fucked if Oscar finds out about it, he will not take something like this lightly, especially not after him almost banning me from going out with racing drivers due to the whole Jack situation.

Aurora and I sat on our hotel beds planning our trip to Japan for the next GP to distract ourselves. She had adored watching the race, and by the time I had woken up this morning (with a deathly headache and the shakes,) she had already emailed Emma for McLaren's travel assistant's details to organise everything.

"Can we please stay for the whole season," she pleads, eyes staring into mine.

"It feels like you're trying to hypnotise me, Rors," I say, glaring my eyes at her, "besides, we can only be away from our place for so long. Sam wants to be back with his mates in HIS house."

Almost as if a light bulb goes off in her head, she types something else down on her laptop, facing it towards me.

"A house-sitting company? Serious?" I fight back a smile, I can't help but feel excited to think about staying for the whole season. But being away from home for so long is terrifying, even over this weekend I was sending texts constantly to Sam to make sure everything was okay and he hadn't burnt down the place.

She nods and smiles, I know how much she wants to do this. "Just think about it Lia girl," she coos, poking my cheek.

"I don't need to think about it. Let's fucking do this!" I cheer.

A knock and the unlatching of the door break apart our celebration, Oscar walking in and immediately looking like a deer caught in headlights.

"Am I missing something?" He asks, before sitting down on the end of the bed.

"Rors and I are coming with you to the next race, and all the others if you'll have us?" I ask this softly, ready for him to reject our plans.

"Are you kidding me guys? No shit, you're finally doing it!" Oscar's smile grows so wide, as he jumps up and lunges himself over us for a hug. "You girls have no idea how fun this will be. I won't have to wait months in between seeing you!"

We all melt into a group hug, and promptly all start organising the season together, every race weekend, the different places to visit in neighbouring cities and potential week off activities. This all made it so exciting, that we weren't just travelling, but going places for a purpose and being able to experience our best friend doing what he does best almost every weekend, in person. After a while, Oscar's phone rings and he walks to the furthest spot in the room to pick it up.

"Hey, mate... Sure of course... Yeah, sick I'll ask her... Nah all good man it'll be good I promise... I'll let you know, okay bye mate, bye." Oscar ends his phone call, as Aurora and I stare at him waiting for him to explain.
