Victoriya stood at the river's edge, staring up as the SHIELD headquarters, along with every HYDRA operative who had controlled her for the past nine years, were consumed by fire. A gnawing fear began to take hold as she watched everything she had ever known being destroyed before her.

She stood there a gun hung loosely in her hand on the side of her body and her free hand near her mouth as she anxiously chewed at her already short nails. Tears started to well in her eyes, she held them back refusing to let any spill.

HYDRA was horrible but it was still her whole life. HYDRA controlled her everything and without HYDRA, she was nothing. HYDRA is gone. HYDRA is gone. Her life is gone.

Victoriya Andreyeva is gone.

What was she supposed to do now? Just move on? In the span of 30 minutes the very little amount of things she was sure of in her life was destroyed and now she had nothing.

Exept jamie.

Or did she? She had heard him saying stuff about "knowing him" before they wiped his memory. What if he left with the "him" and left her all alone? What if he only spent the past 4 years with her just because he had to? Just because HYDRA made him and he didnt actually care about her?

Her mind started spiraling and she blocked out those thoughts. She wasnt even sure if he was alive. She wondered if it would be better if he was dead, then she wouldnt have to watch him choose the 'him' over her.Stop. He wouldnt do that. Would he?

She shook her head and leaned against a tree when a realization hit her. Even if he was alive, she didnt know how to deactivate the Winter Soldier.

Every doctor or HYDRA agent that knew how to do that was dead and if she didnt figure out how to do it then she was fucked. He would stay as The Winter Soldier forever and she would never see her jamie again.

Victoriya felt horrible. Not only because her arm was bleeding, but because she was left alone and there was nothing she could do about it. She felt like she was one of those fish that would crack out of their small weird fish eggs to find that they areall alone. Exept fish are made to survive that.

Victoriya was not.

She was made to follow orders. She was made to have someone telling her what to do, and if she didnt have anyone telling her what to do, she was useless and might aswell just die. It wouldn't make a difference anyway.

She gripped onto the wound on her arm trying to slow the bleeding when the sound of water splashing beside her snapped her out of her thoughts. She turned her head atthe sound and saw Jamie dragging Captain America out of the water.

She silently moved closer, her soft footsteps barely making a sound. She stopped just next to him, her gaze falling onto the man laying on the ground. Her eyes studied the scene, taking in every detail.

"Dead?" She asked her voice barely above a wisper.

James shook his head.

"finish the job"

The phrase echoed through her mind, a
haunting reminder of her past. Her hand instinctively pointed the gun in her hand, her finger on the triger. But before she could act, he placed his hand on her shoulder, his grasp firm yet reassuring.

"Leave him." he murmured.

She looked up at him her eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "But the mission-" she started to protest, but he cut her off.

"-doesn't matter," he interrupted, his voice firm. "HYDRA is gone. You don't have to kill anymore."

Gone

She stared back at the body, a sigh escaping her lips as she lowered the gun. It was over. All of it. The missions, the killing, the punishments. Gone.

"Come on" Jamie held out his hand Victoriya quickly grabbed onto it putting the gun away and the both started walking away.

"What are we gonna do?" The little 9 year old looked up at him chewing the inside of her cheek, a habit she had picked up after seeing a certain brunette boy, who she refused to think about, do it all the time.

"I don't know"

"Well where are we going?" She didnt like the feeling of not knowing or not having a plan.

"I'm not sure"

"Where are we gonna sleep?"

Jamie looked down at the little kid asking him questions about stuff she shouldn't be worrying about. "I'll figure it out. Dont worry about that stuff."

"Okay sorry" she looked down at the rocks bellow her feet as she walked.

"Dont apologise"

"Okay" she smiled a bit.

"You got the plan?" James asked Victoriya. He really didnt want to involve her in anymore plans especially since shes injured but they had too.

"Mhm" she nodded before getting up and walking over to the side of the road. She waited for a car passing by not too fast and when she spotted the victim getting closer she jumped right infront of the car, getting hit, and then falling to the floor as dramatically as possible.

The car came to a screeching halt and the man quickly got out of the car not bothering to close his door to check on the bleeding and screaming child he had just hit.

The man knelt down infront of her as she screamed and put on the most dramatic act she could while James snuck into the drivers seat.

"I want my mommy!" Victoriya cried pointing at a random woman and the second he took his eyes off of her she made a run for the passenger seat and they drove off.

"That was not the plan" James said looking at her for a second before looking back at the road.

"I improvised a bit"

"you jumped infront of a moving car!" He corrected her.

"whatever he wasnt even going fast and barely hit me. I was just being dramatic" she shrugged

"My head hurts" she whined after a couple seconds of silence.

"Ofcourse It does you just got hit by car." James sighed. "You probably hit your head on the floor or something. hows your arm?"

"Hurts" She said not being able to sit straight on the chair. "Where are we going now?"

"Were need to find a store" James answered looking at her for a moment seeing her sitting with her feet stretch on the dashboard. "Get you feet of the dashboard. If I hit the breaks your legs will snap in half"

"Then dont hit the breaks" She mumbled lowering her feet from the dashboard and sitting normally. "With what money are we gonna buy stuff?"

"Check the car"

"For what?"

"Bags, wallets, emergency cash anything" she nodded and immediately started looking. After finding nothing in the front seat she climbed to the back.

"Aha!" She lifted up a backpack she found under one of the seats using her non injured hand.

"good job. look for money inside." Jamie looked at her through the rear-view mirror giving her a smile as she looked through the bag and pulled out a wallet handing it to him. "Can you count how much there is in there?"

She hesitated for a second before shaking her head slightly. She wasnt used to being able to have a choice in doing something. She was always forced at HYDRA but she wasnt there anymore. HYDRA is gone.

"I'm not good at math."

"its okay I'll just count it when we pull over" he reassured her.
