After a while of driving, they pulled over, and Bucky counted the money before speaking. “Okay, we need the medical stuff for your arm, food, and clothes.”

“no, buy food and the other stuff my arm will heal.” she moved her hair out her face.

“No it wont, it'll get infected and you will be sick" he explained looking at the wound, unfortunately it was too deep for her skin to just come back together in a couple of seconds (thanks to the serum), but on the bright side it didnt need stitches and would still heal faster than if she didnt have the serum.

“I can't get sick” she reminded him.

“It could still get infect and there's noway im leaving your arm like that.” he reached into the car handing her a jacket that was way too big and reached to her knees. “Put it on so none sees the wound.”

She quickly nodded putting the jacket on and trying her best to pull the sleeves up to see her hand.

The two walked in, Victoriya avoided the cameras and started stuffing the backpack, that they had found in the car, with clothes and food for her and jamie while he got the medical stuff for her arm.

She was about to slip out but noticed the cashier paying attention to the door so she had to improvise. She grabbed a bottle of water from beside her walking over to the counter.

She placed it on the counter and the woman scanned it. “$1.60”

Victoriya pretended to look for her money before replying. “Oh I dont have enough. Nevermind” she left the water on the counter and tried to walk.

“Wait!” The cashier yelled after her.

Victoria's heart stopped for a second. If she got caught she would go to jail. They would take jamie from her. And she would end up in a cell again. She turned around.

The cashier looked around for a second before handing her the water bottle. “Take it. On me”

“Thank you ma'am” the kid smiled before leaving.

They got what they need and both got into the backseat of the car. They had changed and Victoriya put on a short sleeved shirt to he could treat the wound.

“This is gonna burn okay?” Jamie got a cotton pad and put some alcohol on it. She nodded and he started cleaning the wound. She whinsed, shut her eyes and bit down on her bottom lip, trying to ignore the pain.

“Almost done. You're doing great, doll” he spoke softly as he finished up cleaning the wound and began bandaging it. Her face twitched a bit when he tightened it. “There you go” he smiled at her.

“Jamie?” He hummed in response. “What's gonna happen if they find us”

“who's they?”

“You know, the police, Captain America” she listed off as jamie got into the front seat.

“I dunno, but it doesnt matter. You know why?” he turned around to look at her as she shook her head. “Because they're not gonna find us.”

A smile spread across her face. James turned, started the car and started driving.

“Jamie, whats the capital of Australia?”

“I don't know” he huffed preparing himself for the huge amount of useless questions she was about to asked him. “Ask the kangaroos”

“How come? I thought old people were supposed to be smart.”

“That's not how it works”

“Yeah but weren't you there when it got discovered”

“I'm not that old.”

“how many animals are there?”

“In the world?”

“Yeah” she nodded

“Alot.”

“Why are-” she was interrupted.

“Why dont you read a bit” he handed her a book he had stolen from the store. She took the book, her brows furrowed, and she looked at the title “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”

“But I cant read that well” she complained.

“Its okay you can try” he told her trying to get her to read. Maybe that would keep her quiet. "Plus there's drawings in it."

“I dont wanna right now” she placed the book carefully beside her. “jamie-”

“Wanna play a game?” he interrupted her before she could ask him anything.

“What game?”

“Its called the quiet game”

“How d’you play?” she asked
“Okay so we both have to shut up and whoever speaks first looses”

“That sounds boring”

“come on let's just try it” he said hoping she would say yes so he could have some time to think about important stuff like where they're going, what they need to get, or find a place for her to sleep.

“Okay” she said not that enthusiastically but if Jamie thought it was fun then maybe it was and even if she got bored atleast he was having fun.

“Okay game starts now”

Victoriya huffed and sat down in her seat she very quickly got bored, picked up the book, and started reading. Throughout the couple pages she read, she underlined words she didn't know the meaning off or couldnt read to remind herself to ask bucky after the game is over.
