𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏- Lee Sohee x Lee Chanyoung (Anton)

𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐑𝐄- fantasy au, platonic relationship

----

Lee Sohee's life at Elarion Academy of Arcane Arts was anything but spectacular. Nestled deep within the Enchanted Forest, the academy was a sanctuary for young magical beings honing their abilities. Sohee, with his mixed heritage of nymph and siren, had unique powers that allowed him to manipulate water and communicate with forest animals. Despite his extraordinary abilities, he preferred solitude, often finding solace in the company of woodland creatures rather than his fellow students.

The academy buzzed with life as students practiced their magic, preparing for the annual Elemental Showcase. Sohee avoided the bustling hallways, slipping out to the tranquil forest glade where he felt most at peace. His quiet retreat, however, was often disrupted by the presence of Lee Chanyoung.

Chanyoung, the son of a druid and a witch, embodied the academy's elite. His popularity was matched only by his arrogance. With his enchanting looks and powerful magic, he commanded attention wherever he went. Chanyoung thrived on the adoration of his peers, but his inflated ego often clashed with Sohee's reserved nature.

"Yo, Sohee! Still talking to your furry friends?" Chanyoung called out one afternoon, striding into the glade with his usual entourage.

Sohee rolled his eyes, not bothering to respond. He was in the middle of a conversation with a curious squirrel, a distraction he welcomed from Chanyoung's incessant need for attention.

"What's the matter, water boy? Can't handle a little banter?" Chanyoung smirked, his tone dripping with condescension.

"Fuck off, Chanyoung," Sohee muttered, turning his back on the intruder.

"Watch your mouth, or I'll—"

"Or you'll what?" Sohee cut him off, standing his ground. "Use your magic to throw a tantrum? Grow up."

Chanyoung's eyes narrowed, but before he could retort, a loud bell echoed through the forest, signaling the start of the afternoon classes.

"You're lucky," Chanyoung hissed, turning on his heel. "This isn't over."

Sohee watched him leave, frustration bubbling beneath his calm exterior. Despite their differences, a part of him envied Chanyoung's confidence and the effortless way he navigated the social intricacies of the academy.

As the days passed, preparations for the Elemental Showcase intensified. Sohee focused on perfecting his water manipulation, determined to prove himself despite his reclusive nature. Meanwhile, Chanyoung's demonstrations of earth and plant magic drew crowds, his every move scrutinized and praised.

The tension between them reached a boiling point during a practice session in the academy's grand hall. Chanyoung's performance had attracted a large audience, and he reveled in their admiration.

"Look at me, Sohee," Chanyoung taunted, conjuring a dazzling display of flowers and vines. "This is what real magic looks like."

"You're so full of yourself," Sohee snapped, stepping forward. "Magic isn't about showing off."

"Oh, really? Then what is it about, oh wise one?" Chanyoung sneered.

"It's about connection. Understanding the elements, respecting their power," Sohee replied, his voice steady. "Not using them to boost your fucking ego."

Chanyoung's expression darkened. "You think you're better than me? Just because you can talk to animals?"

Sohee clenched his fists, the air around him crackling with tension. "I don't need to think it. I know it."
