This was it, our final show before we announced our new album, and eventually the tour. The rush of the past months had been intense, but things were finally starting to get easier with Tyler. Our first show had been a disaster—at least, that's how it felt to us. We seemed like we hated each other, but to the fans, our "bickering" was just "adorable."

"Thank GOD we don't have to act all cute," Tyler interrupted my thoughts as he plopped down beside me on the worn-out couch in the green room.

I chuckled and nodded in agreement. "I don't know how Taylor and Logan do it."

"I think it's just because they're that close," Tyler sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Anyway, what song are we performing tonight?"

"'Bad Idea, Right?' I'm pretty sure. Check with Melissa, though," I said, glancing at my phone to double-check.

Tyler nodded and got up to find Melissa. As he disappeared down the hallway, Aiden sauntered over, his signature big grin plastered across his face.

"Heyyyyy, Ashlyn," he said, drawing out my name in that annoyingly cheerful way of his.

"Hi, Aiden. Ready for tonight?" I asked, giving him a half-smile.

"Ready as I'll ever be," he replied, bouncing slightly on the balls of his feet. "This is one of my favorite songs," he added with a nod.

"Wait," he suddenly motioned for me to stop, his eyes lighting up with a mischievous glint. "We should announce the album now. Fans would actually go crazy. It is SNL... everybody watches SNL."

It wasn't a bad idea, but I shook my head. "Melissa would never let us."

"That's the thing, though," he leaned in closer, lowering his voice conspiratorially. "Melissa doesn't need to know."

I hesitated, my mind racing with the possibilities. Before I could respond, the door swung open, and Logan and Taylor burst in, laughing about some inside joke.

"What's up, guys?" Taylor asked, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

"Aiden wants to announce the album tonight," I said, watching their reactions.

Logan raised an eyebrow. "Bold move. Could be cool, though."

Taylor nodded thoughtfully. "It would definitely get the fans hyped."

Tyler returned just in time to hear the tail end of the conversation. "Announce the album tonight? Are you crazy?"

"Maybe a little," Aiden grinned. "But it's SNL. It's the perfect platform."

Tyler glanced at me, and I could see the wheels turning in his head. "What do you think, Ashlyn?"

I took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the decision. "I think... we should do it. But we need to be smart about it."

At that point, Melissa walked in, her eyebrows knitting together in confusion. "Be smart about what?" she asked, a puzzled look plastered on her face.

"Oh, nothing!" Taylor quickly smiled, trying to deflect.

Melissa brushed it off, not wanting to be distracted. "You guys are on in five," she stated firmly.

"Thank you, five!" we all chimed in unison, the familiar phrase grounding us in the moment.

I nodded to Aiden, then to Tyler. This could create the type of buzz we needed to be successful and get started on the right foot. The adrenaline coursed through us as we moved toward the stage.

We entered the darkened stage, the energy palpable as Ryan Reynolds, tonight's host, announced, "Everybody, give it up for School Bus Graveyard!"

At that moment, the opening chords of 'Bad Idea, Right?' filled the room. The crowd's cheers melded with the music, creating a symphony of excitement. We played perfectly—or as perfect as it could be, given the stakes. As the song drew to a close, Aiden turned to me, his eyes seeking confirmation. I nodded.

Grabbing his mic, Aiden stepped forward, his voice cutting through the audience's applause. "Thank you, thank you!" he began, his charm turning up a notch. "It's been an amazing couple of months playing live for our adoring fans," he said, winking at a tween girl in the front row. "That's why we are ecstatic to announce our debut album, 'Guts,' will be out August 12th!"

The crowd erupted into roars of approval, their cheers echoing through the studio. Even Ryan Reynolds was clapping. We waved and exited the stage, our hearts pounding with exhilaration. But as we stepped backstage, we were met with an enraged Melissa.

"What was that!?" she demanded, her eyes blazing with fury.
