Tyler cleared his throat, eyes darting around the room, clearly uncomfortable "uh" he could only mutter at the sudden sidebar conversation.
"Uh, dinner on me?" Aiden butted in, sensing the awkwardness.
"You know what," I said, "sure, where to?"
"Harvest?"
"Sounds good. Should we... wait for Logan and Taylor?"
"Nah," Tyler replied, shaking his head. "I'll text Taylor. She usually takes a long time to talk anyway." He pulled out his phone and started tapping away.
On that, I couldn't help but wonder what Taylor and Logan were talking about.

"What's up, Logan?" Taylor asked, her brow furrowed in confusion. "Are you embarrassed? You're all red; it's quite concerning." She gave Logan a lazy half-smile, half-joking but also genuinely worried.
Logan sighed heavily, running a hand through his hair. He wasn't the most communicative type. He was good at almost anything else—keyboard, school, you name it. But talking about his feelings? Not so much.
"Logan," Taylor began softly. Taylor, with her kind heart and open nature, was easy to talk to. Especially for Logan, who had been her best friend for years. "If you need to talk to me, you can. I'm your best friend."
"Right," Logan repeated, his voice barely above a whisper. "This is just a bit hard to say." He gulped, looking down at his feet.
"It's okay. I'm listening."
"Okay, so, this whole fake dating thing..."
"Oh no, are you embarrassed of me? Are we dating? Logan, I'm so sorry—"
"No, Taylor," Logan interrupted, shaking his head vigorously. "You know I love you. I'm not embarrassed of you, never of you. It's just," he sighed again, struggling to find the right words, "it's not me."
"Logan, I know you don't ACTUALLY like me; it's fine. It's just a cover. Taylor and Tyler have to do it."
The mention of him, of Tyler made Logan go redder. He turned his head away, unable to meet Taylor's eyes.
Taylor read Logan like a book. "Oh... OH."
"Yeah," Logan muttered, his voice barely audible. "So, yeah... basically, I like your brother."
