Taylor was quite frankly taken aback. She paused mid-step, her eyes wide with surprise, before making a dramatic gesture with her hands.
"You like... Tyler? Logan, I thought you were going to say you like Ashlyn!"
"What? No! Ashlyn is like a big sister to me! How did you gather that?" Logan's voice wavered with a mix of confusion and frustration.
"I-I'm not sure. Logan, this..."
"Oh gosh, I knew I shouldn't have told you. I'm sorry, Tay." Logan's shoulders slumped, and he turned away, reaching for the door. He felt like his relationship with Taylor was falling apart right then and there.
Before he could leave, he felt a gentle hand on his shoulder. "Logan..." Taylor's voice was soft, coaxing him to turn around. When he did, he saw a warm, reassuring smile on her face.
"Logan, I don't care that you like guys, or that you like my brother. You're still my best friend, and nothing can change that. You hear me? Nothing. I'm just a little shocked that you like my brother. But I'd never hate you for something as big as that. It's who you are; you can't change it. I love you, Lo," she said, pulling him into a tight hug.
At this point, Logan was crying, his emotions overwhelming him. "I-I..." he tried to speak, but no words came out. He just closed the hug, holding onto Taylor as if his life depended on it.
When they finally pulled away, Taylor couldn't help but ask, "How long have you liked him?"
Logan laughed through his tears, wiping them away with the back of his hand. "Like, a year or two."
"A YEAR OR TWO?" Taylor's voice was a mix of astonishment and amusement.
"Mhm," Logan nodded, a small, shy smile playing on his lips.
"How did I not notice?"
"No clue."
Taylor's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "Logan, you really should tell him you like him. I see how he looks at you."
"Does he even like guys?" Logan asked, a hint of doubt creeping into his voice.
"Not sure. But, you never know if you don't make a move!" Taylor's encouragement was unwavering.
Logan thought about it for a moment, his heart racing. Maybe it was finally time to start something with Tyler. It had been so long since he first started to like him, and nothing had happened. Taylor was right; if he wanted to date Tyler, he had to take a chance.
"Alright," Logan said, determination settling in his eyes. "But, can you help me?"
