35. PDA

The next day, Luke sits beside the hospital bed as a doctor checks up on the stiches on Felicity's leg. The bullet had gone straight through, causing damage to the bone. She'd have to use a cane for a few weeks, which Spencer gladly provided.

When he finishes and leaves the room, Luke squeezes her hand. "How are you feeling?"

She chuckles softly." I'm fine, no need to worry about me. This isn't the first time I've been shot in the leg."

"Really?"

She shakes her head. "I got shot in the opposite leg a few years ago back when I was working in the IRT. We brought down an organization in Mexico. It was a hard one."

"You're a danger magnet."

She smiles." Yeah but you love me anyway."

He rolls his eyes playfully." Yeah, yeah whatever."

She leans forward and places a kiss on his lips. When they pull apart, he rests his forehead on hers.

A few weeks pass of Luke doting on her, she felt like a burden but he was the happiest man in the world when it came to helping her.

Finally Felicity is allowed to go back to work. Luke helps her into the elevator and they ride up with their fingers intertwined.

When they enter the bullpen, they quickly pull apart. Everyone knows about them but for risk of HR reasons they didn't want to show pda in the workplace.

"There you are!!" Penelope pulls Felicity into a tight hug, almost knocking the air out of her.

"It's good to see you, Pen." Felicity grins as they hug.

Penelope hugs Luke next and then smacks him on the chest. "Newbie."

He chuckles, good naturedly." I missed you too, Penelope."

Matt hugs Felicity close and whispers in her ear." I'm glad you're back, Fel."

She pulls away and looks at him with a wide grin. "Can you say that again so I can record it, Matty? I need proof."

"Haha, shut up." He mutters but he can't help but return her grin.

She turns to Spencer, who hugs her tight, he's smiling so wide, he's basically glowing." I missed you, Fel."

"I missed you too, Spencey." She answers.

Before he can complain about the nickname, Emily, Tara, JJ and Rossi come and share the joy of having her back. And she's just as joyful to be back.

   The rest of the day goes by smoothly. Except when it's time to go home, Prentiss calls the couple into her office. Luke expected as much.

She motions for them to sit. "We need to talk."

They take a seat but not before casting knowing glances in each other's direction.

She turns to them." So you two have been dating for a few weeks now. I don't usually like inter-team relationships. They can mess up everything and cause problems." Her eyes grow sad at these words and Luke wonders for a moment if she's had experience. When he can't place with who, he gives up on the theory.

Luke can feel his breathe hold as she speaks. "But... I'll allow it as long as you can keep the PDA to a zero and balance your relationship and the job."

"Of course, Emily." Felicity answers.

Emily nods." You guys can go home now."

As they leave, Emily calls after them."One more thing..."

"Yes?"

"You really shouldn't tell Penelope if you want to keep something a secret." She smiles before looking down at her paperwork.

Luke grins and they leave the building. They join hands when they reach the last step. Standing at the bottom is the rest of the team.

"Who's up for a night out?" JJ asks with a grin. Her eyes twinkle mischievously as she looks at Luke and Felicity. "I won a bet about two certain teammates and would like to spend my hard earned cash."

"You bet on us?" Luke asks, his eyebrows raised.

"On how long it would take you to get together." Tara answers." JJ was the closest."

"Heck yeah I was!" She cheers as the team heads for their cars.

Felicity looks between her team as they walk and a smile appears on her face. This was the best family she could ever ask for.
