Authors note:
About a year and a half later after I finished this book... here's the epilogue, a glance into the future:

EPILOGUE:

To Felicity Chase peace and love were foreign concepts. Something just out of reach. Something she couldn't even wish to have.

But now the sunrise peeked through the sheer white curtains, casting golden light over unmade white blankets. Tangled under them half asleep, was Felicity Alvez. And if anyone knew love and peace well, it was her.

Roxie lays curled into a ball at the foot of the bed, soft snores escaping her ever so often. The sound of a whistling kettle from the kitchen, is what finally causes her to awake from her slumber, her ears perked. She stands and stretches the sleep out of her joints, then she trots over to Felicity and nudges her with her snout. When that doesn't work, she runs her warm slobbery tongue over the side of Felicity's face.

Felicity groans loudly, knowing Roxie won't leave her alone. She sits up against the headboard and wraps her arms around the dog's neck, burying her face into Roxie's fur.

The bedroom door creaks open, and Luke walks in, trying not to spill the two mugs of steaming tea in his hands. His look of concentration turns into a wide grin at the sight of his favorite girls. "Good morning, sleepyheads."

Felicity pulls her face from Roxie's neck.
"Good morning, my Lu. Ooo, my tea!" She takes it graciously from his hand.

He smiles and sets his mug down." You know most wives call their husbands, darling, or sweetheart or even honey."

Felicity chuckles and sets her mug down as well, before leaning foreword and wrapping her arms around his neck. "Lu is sticking around forever, sweetheart. Kind of like Penelope's newbie and JJ's Cheeto obsession."

Luke chuckles softly, his hands finding her waist." Uh huh." He leans forward and kisses her softly. "And Spencer's random facts."

"The list could go on." She answers.

He kisses her again before pulling away.
"Happy Birthday, Flick."

She slips from his grasp and cuddling up under the covers again. "Don't remind me."

"Uh uh uh. No you're not going back to sleep." He pulls the covers from her and picks her up from the bed causing her to yelp in surprise.

"Lukeeee! Let me sleep!!"

"We have a full day ahead of us remember?" He counters as he carries her to the bathroom and sets her down by the sink." So change your clothes, do your makeup or whatever and meet me downstairs."

"It's our day off AND my birthday. Can't we just stay home?" She gives him her best puppy dog eyes.

He grins, leaning close." Your sad puppy eyes aren't going to work on me, Flick. I'm the master of that game. We have to go to lunch with my sister, then shopping, and then... well that's a surprise."

She rolls her eyes." Since when are you the responsible one?" She mutters before closing the door.

Felicity emerged a few minutes later in jeans and one of Luke's old t-shirts she'd stolen, hair pulled up in a quick ponytail. He looks up from where he was clipping Roxie's leash, and his grin softens into something that makes her heart skip.
