The next weekend, Felicity and Luke drive the next few hours to Queens. She can feel her heart beat nervously in her chest.
They reach the retirement home by late evening and walk up the steps slowly. Immediately they're greeted by a nurse who leads them over to the lounge of sorts where old men and woman are talking together.
Felicity's eyes scan the women in the room looking for a particular one. The nurse motions to the window. Standing by it is an old woman speaking to no one.
The nurse leaves and Felicity wants to run away. Luke squeezes her hand and she looks at him. He nods at her reassuringly. She turns back to her mother, and takes a step forward.
Felicity has no clue how this is going to go, but it has to be done. It is time to move on, and she is just glad she doesn't have to do it alone.
She takes one last look back at Luke, before walking towards her mother.
