It took me a long time to recover fully from what Clary had told me. I'd avoided everyone for days and eventually Annabeth found me hiding out in the treehouse of my childhood home, and while my father still owned the building it hadn't been occupied in quite sometime
"We're all really concerned" she says gently "your father especially"
"Screw him" I mutter look at Annabeth in discomept "My father doesn't give a shit about me"
"You don't mean that" Annabeth says softly, but she's wrong. I did mean it. If my father had wanted what was best for me he would have told me the truth long ago but I let that go for now and instead gave my best friend a weak smile
"You're right, I don't" I stood up slowly careful not to hit my head on the low ceiling "Are his guests gone" I ask very fiber of my being hoping they were
"Your dad sent them away" Annabeth says "but he wants to talk to you"
"Oh course he does" I mutter and then get an idea "But I haven't done anything in so long, please Ana, let's go hunting" I have a feeling she's not going to agree with me before she even opens her mouth
Ana frowns and then sighs "Okay" okay, okay? Did I hear that right?
"You're the best" I say hugging her "Come on" I pull her out of the fort and across the lawn heading back to the busstation not far from us "I want to go hunting" once the idea had settled into my mind I could think of nothing else "by the angel, if I don't go hunting now I'm going to explode"
"Hold on" Annabeth says as we board the bus "I'm going to call Jack and Henry and have them meet us"
All the sudden a thought crossed my mind, would it be weird for Ana if I was dating her brother? I shook my head, nah she had never been bothered by my crush before "Okay, tell them to meet us at the water tower, I've heard there's a stray hanging around there"
"Got it" Annabeth says calling the boys
