The game went on for a little over an hour till Jack glanced out the window “Your dads here to see you... and It looks like he’s brought the guests”
I sighed. I had hoped that my accident would of caused my father to take a rain check on his guests “Great” I complain
“Smile Cora” Harry says “Frowning does suit you”
I rolled my eyes but flashed him a smile “Better?”
“Much” He says
Jace (aka my father) walks into the room followed by a girl of sixteen. She was a mirror imagine of me expect for the fact her hair was red not white and I wondered if she was my cousin. “I’m glad to see your awake” My father says pulling me into a bone crushing hug
“Um thanks” I say awkwardly very well aware of everyones eyes darting from the stranger to me. My dad pulls back realizing this and ushers the girl forward. Okay, so maybe she wasn’t a mirror image of me. Her eyes were white instead of green and she had this aurora about her that made you want to listen to every word she said and as she spoke I found myself clinging onto her words
“You must be Cora” She said holding out her hand “I am Hazel Morgenstern” Next to me I heard Harry take a sharp breath and my father shake his head at him ever so slightly but I ignored their unwanted drama and shook her hand
“Um nice to meet you” I say unsure of what to do next and look to my father for help
“Why don’t you guys continue your game, I’m just going to go get Hazel’s mother settled in” He says
“Okay” I say as my dad walks out
“We were playing Truth or Dare” Annabeth says friendly
“I’ve never played” Hazel admitted sitting near my right
“Thats okay” I say
“Its pretty easy” Annabeth continues
“Yeah, I’ll demonstrate. Harry truth or Dare” Jack asks grinning
“Truth” Harry said quickly his last dare had found him streaking down the streets of Chicago with a pitcher of cool aid
“What was the craziest thing that happened to you with in the last year” Jack asks
Harry frowns thinking for a moment “Okay, so I was in woodfield mall the other day, about a month ago someone came up to me and started singing ‘A whole new world’ to me. She was dead serious when she was doing it to”
I start to laugh and than close my mouth and slap him “That was me you idiot”
Harry flashed me a grin “Oh was it really, I had no idea”
Hazel looked at us like we were insane... oops?
“You know what” Annabeth says “I’ve got a better idea”
I look towards her hope in my eyes “Demon hunting!?” next to me I see Hazels eyes light up
“Absolutely not” Julian says staring us all down “Cora has been out for three days! She needs time to recover”
“But dad!” Annabeth starts
“But nothing. Why don’t you go do some normal teenager stuff” He suggests
I groaned “But normal is so boring”
“Well than I guess you’re going to be bored” He says sounding disinterested
“Come on” Annabeth says sourly “We knew that wasn’t going to work anyways” practically pulling me from the room Jack, Harry and Hazel all following.
“So what do you like to do for fun” Jack asks Hazel. I don’t know why he bothered though, she had hardly said a word since she got here
“Fun?” She asks a puzzled look on her face. seriously I thought to myself who didn’t know what fun was.
“Um, you know enjoyment” Jack says sounding just as puzzled as Hazel
She frowned “I... Um... I like to draw?” she says but she sounds very hesitant
“Cool!” Annabeth exclaims “So does Cora, you two could be like twins or something”
Hazel gives her a hesitant smile “Believe me, one twin is enough”
“Wait.” My eyes grew wide “You have a twin” this was just like my dream. So much like my dream that I couldn’t believe it.
“Um yeah” Hazel says raising her eyebrows “Her names Grace”
“Hazel and Grace Morgenstern” I voiced softly and than something inside me clicked. Panic flared inside me “I am going to faint again” I muttered, and than my world went dark.
