"Clarie, can you come down here for a minute" My father shouted up the stairs
I groan looking at my parabatai who I was face timing "Just one minute of freedom" I moaned "That's all I ask"
"Better go Clarie" She says smirking. She knew I hated it when people called me Clarie. I preferred Cora or C.
"Shut up Annabeth" I say giving her a glare flipping my naturally white straight hair over my shoulder.
"You're such a drama queen" Annabeth teases "Now get on going before I get you in trouble again" She says commandingly
"Like you care about me getting in trouble" I say as I give her one last longing look before I tore myself out of my bed and thundered down the stairs. "You wanted me?" I ask my hands crossed over my chest.
"Yes" He says looking up from his work "I have a guest who has a daughter around your age coming over this weekend, I want you to be there" He says sounding very disinterested
"But I have plans with Annabeth and Jack this weekend" I protest
"Than cancel them" My father says giving me a teasing smile "The world will revolve without you."
"But dad!" I protest
"But Clarie" He mocks me "I know" He says putting his hands in the air in defeat "I was a child once to, but your mothers behind me on this one" He says
I groan "I am not a child" I protest "And you know mom doesn't even like guests anyways!" I protest. My mothers name was Meredith Rose Herondale, not my birth mother of course, anyone with eyes could figure that one out, she however was. my. mom. She had been there for me ever since I was really little and I had long excepted the fact that she was always going to be in my life, and I was good with that. She loves my dad enough that she ascended for him and that's good enough for me. But anyways back to my story
"You will be there" He says
I sigh "Okay dad" I resign "I'll be there"
He gives me a smile "See that wasn't so hard was it" he asks
I rolled my eyes "Of course not"
"He never haas visitors" Annabeth says raising his eyebrows
"No, but he's alway goes up to his 'bosses' cabin in the weekends" I reply
"Not this again" Jack said joining our FaceTime
I grin at the sight of Annabeth's boyfriend "Okay! but how do you explain why he's never taken my or my mom" I said. I was convinced my dadd had been cheating on my mother every weekend for the last six months
"Maybe it really is his bosses cabin!" jack says
"Since when has my father cared about his mundane job" I ask skeptically
"Ever since he started going to the cabin" Annabeth said sounding bored. Jack and I had this argument almost everyday.
"I like your dad C, I know that he would never do something like that." Jack says frowning
"what ever" I huff
"Annabeth yawns "Now can we finally go do something interesting" She asked her eyes lighting up
Me and Jack both 'computer' high fived "Yeah man" I say standing up
"our usual" Jack asked
Annabeth nods.
We all meet up millennium park, near the fountain. I lived about thirty minutes away, walking distance that is, while the other two live a measly five minutes away.
"About time" Annabeth says
"We were beginning to think you got mugged" Jack added helpfully
I grin at them "Nope! Better than that!"
"Gang banged?" Jack suggested
I shoved him "Not funny, but seriously, you guys should come see this" I jogged off the way I had came not bothering to check if they were coming. I simply knew.
"How much farther" Jack complained after five minutes. I rolled my eyes not bothering to respond, I was too busy darting around people. No one paid us much attention, there were odder things than three oddly dressed teenagers.
"Here we are" I say stopping at a small alley way just off of East Congress Parkway
"Big whoop" Jack says frowning at me
"Idiot" I say looking at Annabeth "And you?" I ask her "Are you an idiot"
She was standing there with her mouth open unable to reply "I-I" She stammered
Jack raised his eyebrows glancing again at the alley way "I't a glamour" He said after a minute moving to take Annabeth's hand. "But why would any one do something like this" He asks
"I don't know" I confess,, because standing there staring up at the ramshackle building I didn't know anyone sick enough to hang angel wings over the door way, but I intended to find out. I started towards the door a nervous feeling in my stomach as I reached for my glamoured bow and arrows.
"You can't go in there" Annabeth says but she was already following me
"Exciting isn't it" I meant it too, this was the most fun I would have in a while. I was sure of that. I turned the door knob and pushed the door slowly open with my foot. Shivers traveled up my spine as the door creaked open. "Here goes nothing" I say stepping into the house
I crept along the first floor Annabeth and Jack in my wake. Suddenly my Sensor went wild with demonic presence. Weird, there wasn't any just a minute ago. Before I can ponder we find ourselves surrounded, the odds are against us. This Is What I Live For. I let out a yell of thrill releasing an arrow from my bow. The demon went straight down. I wasn't paying attention though. I was too busy reloading. Behind me Annabeth fought with a sword and Jack with his knives. Alone we weren't much, but put us together and we could kick some major ass. Demons fell in front of me and more took there place. I turned just in time to kill of a demon that was about to sink its claws into Annabeth and continued shooting. Just when the thrill of the fight was beginning to die down and my arms started growing tired the mass of demons disappeared, and I mean disappeared. Like one moment they were there and the next... nothing.
"Are they... gone" Jack asked uncertain. It wasn't like a demon to give up a fight
"I think so" Annabeth says sounding unsure "Let's get the hell out of here though" She says panic hidden in her voice.
I wiped the sweat off my brow. "I'll meet you two outside in just a moment" I say glancing towards the upstairs of the house "I'll yell if I need back up"
Annabeth nods taking Jacks hand "Five minutes. Then were coming in after you" I nod already walking towards the stairs. I hear Jack and Annabeth talking softly as they head outside but I ignore it intent on my mission. I climb up the stairs dodging holes careful as to where I put my weight. I was quite petite at a five foot two inches but I still doubted that some of these stairs could hold my weight.
There were only two rooms upstairs and I headed into the first one the sight instantly taking away my breath. Inside the room was a mangled up body of an angel. I gasped sinking to my knees beside it "I'm so sorry" I whispered wondering what you were to say when an angel died. I settled with the words of a shadow hunter "Ave Atque Vale" I whispered softly and stood up. Suddenly the room was engulfed in fire, and only I stood untouched.
"Be careful Clarie Cora Fray" A voice said seeming to come from all over the room. "These days which are coming shall test you in ways which you have never been tested before" I looked around me noticing the body of the angel was gone and I wondered where they went in death. The voice laughed "I have gone nowhere Clarie Cora, I thank you for finding me. In doing so you set my spirt free. You have my blessings. But Clarie dear. Be careful" The voice said and than the room was empty. Empty of fire, empty of angels and any evidence that the events had happened. Without warning I passed out.
So tell me what you guys think! I worked really hard on this, like a weeks worth of writing went into this so tell me what you think, thanks for reading~Kat
