"I am sorry Mr Lee, I tried my level best to save your husband but I couldn't. Now only a miracle can save him", Joshua stumbled backwards hearing those words. He felt his whole world crashing down.
Mingyu caught him before he could fall to the ground.
His legs were numb, he couldn't comprehend what the doctor said.
"What are you saying, doctor? What do you mean you couldn't save him?", asked Mingyu frantically.
"Mr Kim, the thing is that Mr Seokmin's condition is very serious. His brain has been damaged severely and there is a clot formed in it. Through operation, we have taken out the clot successfully but the chances of him slipping into the coma are high. The chances of a complete cure are only 30%. There's nothing we can do other than pray to the heavens above" the doctor said patting his shoulder.
Mingyu felt his throat go dry, he managed to choke out and asked, "Um, can we meet him, doctor?
"Yeah you can but make sure you are not crowding", said the doctor.
"Yeah, we'll make sure of that. Thanks, Doctor", said Mingyu
The doctor patted his back and left from there.
Mingyu came towards Joshua. His heart clenched seeing him in this condition.
Helpless, dejected, broken, lost.
"You should meet him hyung", Joshua jerked out hearing Mingyu's words.
He nodded at him and made his way towards the OT.
He felt suffocated, his legs gave away, throat completely dried up. Gulping he opened the door and went inside.
His heart felt heavy, there laid his husband with various wires attached to him, his head bandaged up, an oxygen mask that kept his breathing intact, and his eyes were closed.
The usual glow he had on his face had disappeared and his face looked nothing but pale, and his lips dried up.
He then remembered what the doctor said just minutes ago,
"I am sorry we can't save him" That sentence kept ringing in his head.
His eyes started burning with warm tears flowing from his eyes.
The love of his life is leaving him alone in this cruel world just like that?
"We'll go through everything together. I won't leave you alone, not today, not tomorrow and never in the coming future. I promise you, my love"
This is the promise Seokmin had made years back. So now what happened?

Joshua took Seokmin's hand carefully to not touch the wire attached to it.
"Seok, the doctor said you can't make it. But I know, I know that you will, you won't leave me alone, right? You promised me, you promised that you would not leave me and Minji anytime soon. You are everything we both have, we can't imagine our lives without you in it. Darling, please don't do this. Please wake up, not for me but for Minji, your princess", cried Joshua.
