"Who are you?"
Mingyu looked at him bewildered. He noticed Seokmin giving a strange look.
At first, Mingyu thought that the question was dedicated to him but when he saw Seokmin's eyes staring somewhere else, he got confused.
Seokmin hadn't acknowledged his presence yet.
So if not him then whom was Seokmin giving these strange looks?
He then darted his eyes towards the only other person in this room and saw a flabbergasted Joshua staring at Seokmin with wide eyes.
"Min quit playing. You had us worried for the past ten hours because of your injury and now this. What has gotten into you?", said Mingyu noticing Joshua's painful expression.
Mingyu saw him looking confused.
He tilted his head to the side, "Uh, do I know you?"
"Why is he looking at Joshua like he is a stranger? Why is he giving me a strange look? I am your amazing best friend Min. What is this idiot up to now? Quit playing Min, it's not funny. Ugh let him recover completely then I'll show him", thought Mingyu.
Before he could reply to Seokmin, the doctor came in panting hard, completely breathless. It seemed that he had come running till here hearing Joshua's frantic screams.
"Doctor he's acting strange. He is not being himself", Said Mingyu
"Yes, just give me min I'll check him", Said the Dr coming towards Seokmin who was sitting on the bed looking around with confusion clouding his eyes.
"How are you feeling Mr Lee?", asked the Dr checking Seokmin's vitals.
"Apart from this terrible body pain and throbbing headache, I am completely fine", said Seokmin looking at the Dr.
"Oh that's normal in this condition. I'll prescribe some medications for it. Mr Lee I am going to ask you a few questions, I want you to answer them honestly. Can you do that for me?", the Doctor asked
Seokmin nodded his head as yes.
"So Mr Lee can you tell me what exactly happened before losing your consciousness?", the Doctor interrogated.
"Erm I don't remember exactly but I think I was about to go to a company called 'Pledis' to give my audition", said Seokmin clearly not understanding how he ended up in the hospital bed.
Mingyu and Joshua widened their eyes at Seokmin's response. What in the world is he jabbering about? Before he got into an accident Seokmin was in the studio to record his parts for the new album.
Mingyu looked at the doctor and shook his head conveying that whatever Seokmin spoke just now is not true at all.
"What is wrong with him?"
"Mr Lee do you remember these two people in the room?", questioned the doctor pointing at Mingyu and Joshua.
"Hmm. No, not that I can recall seeing them anywhere. Do we know each other?", asked Seokmin looking at the two.
Mingyu felt his legs give up hearing Seokmin's response, whereas Joshua paled even more if that was possible. Something is fishy here, they both concluded.
"One last question, Can you tell me which year is this Mr Lee?", asked the doctor observing Seokmin's every movement.
"2012"
Hearing this Joshua felt his heart drop. His eyes rolled back and in that moment he fainted. The last thing he heard was Mingyu's screams calling for him.
"Hyung? Joshua? Josh?", Mingyu patted his face to wake him up.
The doctor came towards the two and took Joshua's hands in his and checked his pulse and vitals.
"He fainted because of weakness. Please take him to the room next door and make him lie there. A doctor will soon come and check him", said the doctor and then turned towards the nurse and told her, "Nurse please ask Dr Eunhyuck to check on him"
The nurse nodded her head and went out to search for the mentioned Dr.
With one last look at puzzled Seokmin, Mingyu carried Joshua and took him to the next room.
"Am I missing something?", asked Seokmin noticing their weird expressions.
"No nothing Mr Lee", said the doctor and injected the anesthesia-filled syringe.
Seokmin felt his eyes droop and heaviness take over. Before he knew he lay on his bed closing his eyes and drifting into dreamland.

"Sir. We will be needing these medicines. Can you get it from a chemist's store down on the first floor?", asked a nurse handing the piece of paper to Mingyu.
He looked at the figure of Seokmin who was lying peacefully on the bed, he seemed hesitant to leave Seokmin alone, frightened that something might happen if he was not there around.
The nurse seemed to understand his inner turmoil and said in a reassuring tone, "Don't worry about him sir. I'll be here taking care of him. Please bring the needed medications".
With a hesitant look at Seokmin, he went towards the door.
He opened the door only to bump into the person whom he was trying to reach out a few hours ago.
"Seungcheol hyung? are you here? Or are my eyes deceiving me?", asked Mingyu rubbing his eyes to make sure he was not imagining.
"Of course, I am here Mingyu. Remember I had promised you and the other kids that whenever you guys need me I'll be there with you guys the very moment", said Seungcheol smiling at him.
Mingyu stood there staring at Seungcheol for a few minutes before it finally sank in that,
"Seungcheol Hyung is here"
"His hyung is finally here"
Mingyu smiled a small smile and flunged his arms around his hyung and pulled him in a tight hug.
"He doesn't remember us, hyung. He doesn't remember me, Joshua or Minji. He has forgotten us completely. He forgot those beautiful twelve years of his life", said Mingyu crying on Seungcheol's shoulders.
Mingyu cried and cried, letting out his emotions for the first time since he got to know about Seokmin's accident.
He felt safe in his hyung's arms. He knew his hyung would make everything right. He knew that Seungcheol would never let anything go wrong. He knows his hyung will knock some senses into his idiot best friend's brain.
Everything will be okay now. He believed in his hyung more than anything and he knew that Choi Seungcheol would make everything okay.
Only if he knew how wrong he was and that everything was about to go downhill from now on.
