A boom. I heard it off in the distance. A gust of wind came rushing by so fierce it knocked all 3 men over and blew my now loose hair into my face. I tried to shake it out of my eyes but my head hurt so badly, I nearly threw up from the movement.
A second boom, closer this time, but the wind came from directly above us. I could hear running footsteps. Heavy footsteps. Glowing red orbs on a figure all blacked out came literally barreling into the two holding my legs. The one still placed inside me stayed put, continuing to rape me while his buddies we're very audibly being destroyed just out of sight. 7. 7 bright glowing orbs slammed down on top of the 3rd guy. Wings with a red tint to them spread as wide as can be. This blue orb guy, at first he was careful as he pulled the guy off me, or rather out of me. But as soon as he was out, the blue orbs glowed bright enough to light up the whole mountain and then the fighting began. I could hear a blade get drawn and then heard it as it sliced something and then got plunged into someone else.
No longer able to hold the pain back, a scream came barreling out of me. The pain so unbearable. The healing powers of my Illyrian lineage completely nullified right now. I felt someone cut the rope holding me to the tree and the rest of my body went limp. I couldn't move.
Red tinted wings spread wide and then someone wrapped me in something before a pair of strong arms wrapped around me.
"We need to get her to Rhys. I know she said she didn't want anything to do with that, but I refuse to let this happen again. I refuse to let her be in danger when there's something I can do about it." A familiar voice said, one that soothed me to the point of wanting to just go to sleep.
"Hey, stay awake. You have a concussion, I need you to stay awake." The voice said directly to me. Golden hazel eyes glowing in the night. Azriel. He came.
"Alright. Let's go then. Rhys won't be happy to be woken up right now. Not when him and Feyre don't sleep much since Nyx was born." The other guy said, I assume Cassian. My vision is too blurry to fully make out his features but his voice is familiar.
And then a rush of air came over me along with 2 loud booms of wings as they took to the skies. Me in Azriel's arms.
I woke up in a room I didn't recognize. I tried to sit up but couldn't. My whole body hurt in ways I had never felt before. I looked around the room, book shelves along the walls along with one giant window overlooking the mountain and the river. I couldn't see much through my right eye, but I could see pretty clearly through my left and when I turned to see the other side of the room, there sat Azriel right next to the bed. Head in his hands, his wings tucked in and blood covering his hands.
Just then, Cassian and another handsome man walked in.
"Ah, you're awake little warrior." Cassian said and Azriel's head picked up. Relief filling his eyes before he turned to look at Cassian.
"So you must be Luna. It's nice to meet you, not the circumstances I would have preferred, but you're alive and that's what matters right now. Cassian filled me in on what happened. I'm so terribly sorry for what happened. My home is yours for as long as you need. I would suggest you not go to your home until things can be properly investigated. I will apologize though because I did go in your head to figure out all of what happened. I didn't pry into the locked doors in there, but I did force my way into the one that held tonight's memories. I have people looking into where those men came from. Cassian and the High Lady did go to your house to take care of the mess. I do have some questions when you are ready to answer them, but for now I would like you to rest and heal. Make yourself at home. Oh, and welcome to the House Of Wind. Whatever you need, the house will take care of it." This must be Rhysand, the High Lord. Dressed immaculately from what I can actually see. His violet eyes are what strike me the most. They're beautiful. Not as beautiful as Azriel's but still.
"Uh... thank you. What questions do you have?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper. I guess I lost most of it with that scream earlier.
"Oh, you needn't worry yourself with those just yet. I'll come check in on your in the morning and we can talk then. I must get back to sleep before my little one wakes up and I no longer have the option of sleep." He smiled warmly and then walked out.
"Holler if you need anything, I'll be around. My lady has requested my presence. Rest up, Luna." Cassian said and left the room as well.
Azriel though, he stayed. He moved to sit closer to the bed where I lay propped up on pillows. I turned my head to face him.
"How bad is it?" I asked and I saw the frown on his face before he tried to hide it.
"Not as bad as what you think. It'll heal." He said but I shook my head and forced myself out of the bed and towards the obvious bathroom area. A huge tub filled with steaming hot water just calling my name once I saw it. Azriel stuck right behind me, ready to catch me at every wobble as I made my way over to the mirror. As soon as I looked in it, my heart shattered. A stitched up gash ran right down my right eye, no wonder I cant see well out that eye right now. My black hair caked in blood. As if reading my mind, the mirror expanded to show my entire body length. Not caring that Azriel stands just a couple feet away, i removed the large shirt that someone had put on me and let it fall to the floor. Tears fell from my eyes as I inspected every bruise, every obvious broken bone in my ribcage. I crumpled to the floor, not able to stop the tears from falling. Unable to control my breathing. Azriel quickly sat down on the floor beside me and pulled me into his lap as careful as possible not to hurt me more than I already am.
