Chapter Six: Beneath the Starlit Tears

It's been a week since the incident, and I've been avoiding her outside of class. Except during class, tuwing nag tataas naman ako ng kamay tinatawag nya ako, hindi ako nag papapansin ok? Tinutulungan ko lang classmates ko, because if none of us answer Phaedra's questions, mag papa-quiz sya agad agad as in. Kaya no choice ako para mag taas ng kamay

During the one week of avoidance, I've also grown closer to Ate Eula, aka Professor Herrera. She's playful, unlike how I used to see her. Both she and Phaedra used to be cold, but now she's so lively.

"Is your character Andrew?" I shot her a glare, but she just laughed at me. "HAHAHAHAHA BOOM, YOU LOSE! AGAIN!"

I sighed and chuckled along. We've been playing 'Who Is It?' board game since earlier, she said she bought it so we'd have something to do during lunch. Tumingin ako sa wrist watch ko and i still have 10 minutes left para pumuntang next subject ko, i glanced at Ate Eula na nagliligpit ng game "Let's play another round, i still have 10 minutes"

Tumigil sya sa pagliligpit at tumingin sa akin, she smirked "What if you use those 10 minutes to start walking to your next class? You walk pretty slow Miss Laurier" napangiwi ako nang tawagin nya ako sa last name ko

I rolled my eyes which made her laugh, i look at her and pinag masdan sya "You're beautiful pala 'no?" She stopped laughing and looked at me, seemingly surprised by my comment.

Did I say something wrong?

"What did you just say?" She furrowed her eyebrows, which made me even more confused. Is it bad to compliment someone now?

Tinitignan ko muna sya ng ilang segundo bago mag salita "You're beautiful?..."

She leaned back in her chair, crossing her arms with a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Wow, are you trying to flirt with me now?" Her tone was teasing, but there was a hint of genuine curiosity in her voice.

I shifted uncomfortably in my seat. Assumera 'tong babaeng 'to "Ew... Assumera" Ngiwi kong sabi sa kanya na ikinatawa nya

I saw her take a deep breath "I thought you'd completely changed. I guess not" she said with a smile. "You're still the same."

I tilted my head, not quite understanding what she meant. "What do you mean?"

"You still have that honesty in you, Vianne. The way you don't hesitate to say what you think or feel, even if it's something as unexpected as calling me beautiful" she explained, her smile growing softer.

I felt a warmth spread through my chest at her words, but there was also a pang of sadness. "I guess... I haven't changed completely" I admitted. "But... some things are different now."

She nodded, understanding in her eyes. "I know. Life has a way of changing us, whether we like it or not. But it's good to see that some parts of you are still the same."

She smiled sweetly which made one of my eyebrow raise "Why do i sense that smile of yours na parang may gusto kang sabihin"

"Well it's more of... a question" Her smile grew wider and cleared her throat, umayos din sya sa pag upo at tumingin sa akin "So about last week... About the conf——"

"Your confession?" I cut her off and smirk, i could see her cheeks heat up

"Hoy wala na akong crush sayo. Anyway... There's a new arcade opening up sa mall this saturday and I'm an arcade type of person and if you—"
