Abhimanyu, consumed by worry and confusion, turned to Easha with a roar, "Easha, why didn't I know about this? How could you keep this from me?"
Easha flinched but stood her ground, her eyes blazing with anger. "You were the one who left, Abhi. For god knows what reason. She was suffering, she was alone. Aryan was in France completing his final year, our mother was fighting cancer, and Divya collapsed under the weight of it all. Everything was too much for her to handle alone."
Abhimanyu's face fell, guilt washing over him as Easha continued, her voice shaking with emotion. "She didn't tell anyone because she didn't want to burden us. She was ALONE, Abhi. What should she have done? After all this, you decide to come back and get married. Did you give this marriage of yours a try? No, you didn't. And now, why this fake concern?"
Abhimanyu was silent, his heart aching with the truth of Easha's words. He had left, thinking he was doing what was best, but he had only added to Divya's burden. "Easha, I... I didn't know. I thought she was strong enough, that she didn't need me."
Abhimanyu's voice was filled with desperation and guilt as he tried to explain himself. "Easha, I didn't know about her mother suffering from cancer. I know I left. I know I fucked up. But that doesn't mean I don't care. I had my reasons to leave."
Easha crossed her arms, her eyes narrowing. "What reasons, Abhimanyu? List them for me."
Taking a deep breath, Abhimanyu replied, "She cheated on me. She was with a man in a café, holding his hand. Siya showed me those pictures. You know I hate betrayals. You know how much it hurt me."
Easha's face twisted with disbelief and anger. "Are you serious? And you just believed Siya? Did you even talk to Divya about it?"
Abhimanyu's jaw tightened. "I saw the pictures, Easha. I didn't need to ask."
Easha shook her head, her eyes filled with a mix of pity and frustration. "You idiot. You let some photos, which could have been misinterpreted, destroy everything? You left without even giving her a chance to explain. Do you have any idea what she went through after you left? She was shattered, Abhi. Completely broken."
Abhimanyu ran a hand through his hair, the weight of his mistakes pressing down on him. "I didn't know, Easha. I thought I was doing the right thing by walking away."
Easha's voice softened, but the edge of her anger remained. "The right thing would have been to talk to her, to trust her. She deserved at least that much from you."
The beep machine started beeping indicating improvement in aryan easha was about to go there but stood a second and said
Easha shook her head, her eyes filling with tears. "She needed you, Abhi. She needed you more than ever, and you weren't there. Don't make the same mistake again. If you care about her, show her. Be there for her now."
"Easha, I felt dead inside when I saw her like that," Abhi confessed, his voice trembling with emotion. "I love her, Easha. I really do. And I won't let anyone hurt her again."
Easha looked at him, her eyes softening. "Abhi, if you really love her, then fight for her. Show her that you're serious, that you're here for her."
"I will," he said with determination. "I'll do whatever it takes to make things right and to protect her."
Easha nodded, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. "She needs to see that you're committed, Abhi. Be patient with her. She's been through a lot."
"I know," he replied. "But I'll prove to her that she can trust me again."
