She had barely walked a few miles on the snow that she was already tired. Uzi had walked this same path at least a dozen times to the cathedral in the search for her mother. She had tried to get help from her dad a couple times, but if her father didn't give a single shit about his own daughter, he was even less likely to care about looking for his "deceased" wife's heart. He didn't even believe Uzi when she told him Nori was alive, and after having again the proof that her dad was useless, she decided to take things on her own. She could've asked V or N for help, but she didn't want to traumatise them. V had "died" in the cathedral's tunnels, and in that same place N had lost both his friends. Or his former crush and his new one. "UGH, nevermind."
She dropped a few minutes later on the ground with a soft sound, her wings flapping behind her back. She didn't really like using her Solver powers anymore, unlike Doll. But flying was way better than walking all that distance anyways. On the snow was a black ribbon, the kind you put in your hair. J used to wear those too, Uzi thought, a bitter memory of the disassembly drones' squad leader in her head. She shoved it in her pocket and, railgun in her hands, opened the doors and walked in. The Absolute Solver's pit was now closed. Tessa's sword was still on the cold floor. Crucifix Patch broken in half. Last time they'd used it, it didn't really work. So they had to go to extremes to "cancel" Cyn. They'd almost died too. The chandelier above swinged, and Uzi thought it must've been the wind. If there even was any, but cathedrals are pretty chill. She looked around her, but the chandelier just continued to swing more and more and it kinda worried the worker drone. An angry whisper followed. A feminine voice."What if it's mom?" But it was nowhere near Nori up there. With the candelabra fell two disassembly drones, which Uzi almost fired at from the sudden fear. "Sorry not sorry, Uzi. It's not your mom!" V said with a grin. She didn't like nor trusted Uzi but they still managed to get along. How? Uzi didn't know. Perhaps it was just because of N. They both cared for him. "UZIII!" N exclaimed. They ran at each other and crashed into an intense hug as if they hadn't seen each other for ages. For a moment, they just stood like that, Uzi with her head buried in N's coat and N's arms wrapped around her body until V started to walk around noisily, interrupting them. "Looking for your mom huh?" N said, blushing a little. "Yeah, but i didn't cover everything, the cathedral's way too big." She sighed. "Then get your asses moving, losers. We've got a Nori to look for!" V yelled from the distance, her hands now guns for protection, but N was quick to know her intentions and insisted he protects the group, not wanting to lose anyone anymore.
They moved from corridor to corridor, looked under the rubble for hours on end, but without success. They even checked all lockers. Uzi stared at where the pit had once been. She had thrown her mother into it. But all was not lost. Maybe Nori had made it out of there. "Let's give it a last shot before the sun rises. We've got 45 minutes before sunrise, we can do it, trust me," N assured her in a motivational tone while V was kicking some pebbles in the back, visibly tired from their vain search. They were going down yet another corridor when a strange noise alerted them. The scratch of metal against rock, a tail audibly swooshing, and a hiss in the back. It took nothing for the trio to turn their heads and their mysterious stalker to attack them from where they stood. J, the squad's long-gone captain, was back. And that's when Uzi realised that the ribbon she had picked up from the snow earlier didn't just look like the ones J wore, it was the one she wore. Her outfit was a bit ripped from the side, for she had used her clothes' fabric to make herself a hair tie. "Isn't that my ribbon you're holding in your filthy worker hands?" J grinned and, as fast as lightning, threw Uzi against the stone walls, her railgun sliding away from her. N drew out his claws, aiming at J with full force when she slammed her blades into his waist, N sinking to the ground from the unexpected stab. V, hands still guns, fired aimlessly at her ex co-worker, who was avoiding the bullets by blocking them with her long blades. "V, it's so nice to see you again!" J smirked, mockery clear in her voice. V switched to claws and attempted to scratch J's face, who instead cut off V's arm with her blades, which threw her off guard. Things were happening fast, for barely half a minute passed and Uzi was already free from the rubble she was blocked under. With her Solver powers, she held J's hand together as she dragged her body towards her, picking up her weapon and blowing it a kiss. "Easy fight," V said, mocking J to piss her off and cutting her legs while N, despite being pained, was secretly wishing for Uzi to kiss him the way she kissed her railgun, blushing at the thought. But it's not like it could really happen someday, could it?
