A dummy drone's guide to business 2

They got into the van, and buckled their seatbelts while Uzi was busy opening the garage door. It was a large underground room with a broken bike, a jet in construction and the van they'd taken serving as this drone's vehicle parking. The door opened and Uzi jumped in, buckling her seatbelt and driving like some madman through the long, hill like tunnel while N was a bit panicking in the back, holding J by her chains since Uzi was the one driving. No one could really object. A last door flew open as they found themselves out driving on the snowy paths outside the cathedral.

It was 1 am, and they hadn't a lot of time left before sunrise. A few hours maybe to get to the meeting spot. After half an hour of turning around the area in the hope that they'll find the dealer drones, some thin thread of smoke appeared in the air as the stolen van was trying to locate it. "Park the van somewhere where they won't see it," V suggested. They all went out of the vehicle, walking with small steps to make no noise. "UGH, this is so annoying, just set me free already!" J screamed. N and Uzi tried to silence her but it was already too late. They were spotted. Uzi recognised the male worker as Adam, one of her father's co-workers believed to be long gone. His story dated from the time the murder drones' squad was still mindlessly killing off any workers. "Uzi! It's a pleasure to see you!" he said, but the female didn't lose any time in formalities.

Drawing out an extremely sharp, heated blade from its sheath, she took a few steps forward and was preparing to aim her shot at Uzi when J spiralled in front of her, the blade slashing through the chains instead. The scene was enough time for Uzi to get her railgun out and shoot at the lady, who avoided the shot and ran for her opponent. Railgun on her back to recharge, Uzi had no choice but to use her Solver powers if she wanted to protect herself and her friends; but V and N were already firing as J laughed in the back. "Don't use them just yet!" N told her. Adam was in fact nowhere to be seen, only the dark-blue haired female who was graciously manipulating her blade, burning anyone's robot skin with it, slashing through waists and cutting off hands. When her railgun recharged, she fired another time, but with no success. N was on the ground, oil leaking from the wound at his waist, separated from his upper body, staining his sliced coat, his right hand cut off and his left foot slashed. V was lying on the ground, feet cut off and arms missing, her visor glitching while N's one displayed an error message before a regeneration notif. Just the sight of her friends hurt made Uzi want to shed tears. The Solver's symbol replacing her left eye, Uzi lifted both palm, taking away the lady's blade and throwing frozen tree barks at her, but she didn't seem the least bit worried. She was a second away from choking the worker in front of her when someone took hold of both her arms. Fighting against Adam's grip, she had no more control over her Solver powers and her hands were suddenly cut off,  the Absolute Solver's symbol gone from her now badly glitching visor. "I need to do this for N," she thought, glancing at the badly injured boy. Her vision was blurry, and the more she fought, the more her eyes closed until she finally fell into a pitch black darkness, unable to resist anymore.

N's head hurt so much, voices were ringing inside it, bright sparks of memories flashing in his mind. He woke up an hour later after regenerating, only to find himself chained along with V and Uzi, who were well awake and grumbling, Uzi's digital brows knitting together in fury. "He's woken up, great! Now all of them can hear our treaty's terms!" J said delightedly with that same bitchy expression they knew her so well.

"What treaty," N mumbled innocently. "Let's just say that me, Adam, and Ingha came to an agreement." Ingha.. so that was the female worker's name. "I help them with their project and they don't hurt me, very simple. I will perform a variety of tasks for them long as they do not make me  their prisoner, all the while helping me reclaim my title as the leader of this squad. After all i wouldn't want them to use me for any of their wild things!" she smirked. "Their fighting techniques were pretty basic but efficient, and besides, I'm done being someone else's captive anyways!" The new trio raised glasses of oil and ice, enjoying their victory over N, V and Uzi. "WAIT! Instead of using Uzi, how about we find another way of whatever you wanna do for your mysterious project! J, V, Uzi and I could come up with new, better and more efficient ideas where no one gets hurt!" N really hoped they'd agree to this, and V and Uzi were more than surprised by the idea. "The deal's sealed, too late now," J grinned. "I gave them some more ideas anyway, and they seem to be liking them anyways."

N was desperate for some plan to get him and his friends out of this place, and was ready to suggest any ideas that popped up in his mind - no matter how unreal they seemed - when J once again reminded him of his uselessness. "N, business is an art dummies cannot understand." And she was right. He shouldn't forget he was a dummy after all.

The sight of the very people who captured her being held prisoners by others made J giggle more than ever. Ahh, destiny switches sides sometimes. And on the other hand, she was a genius, spinning like a ballerina to set herself free was probably one of the best ideas she'd ever had.

The woman turned to face J, her steaming blade pointed toward her. "Alriightt, looks like you had fun with the rest of the squad, but I don't wanna fight you, lady. See, I was their prisoner myself until you - I mean I - set myself free." "You could be my prisoner too, yours being a disassembly drone with fancy weapons doesn't mean I'm not capable of fighting you." "Nobody's gonna be fighting more than they already did tonight," J said, arrogance and overconfidence in her voice. "Do you talk business, lady?" J was grinning more than ever now. She knew it was gonna work. It had to. "Oh, this drone means business." J thought that drone was kinda sassy, actually. Finally someone who spoke the same language as her and V. Although V was chained up and regenerating now.

The woman introduced herself as Ingha as she invited J to take a seat on some frozen logs near the fire.  Ingha had dark-blue hair falling on her shoulders in small locks, and she was wearing a knee length dark blue skirt and a cream top, her sword sheathed at her side. For a little bit more than 40 minutes, they've been discussing things about Copper 9 and the company before her interlocutor offered her a deal: she was to help them with their "life-changing" project and they'd generously reward her in return, all the while sparing her the pain her ex co-workers and the purple brat were about to experience. "And you'll help claim my title as their leader once this is done? Reform my squad maybe?" "Sure, we could figure that out together!" They shook hands just as Uzi and V were waking from their regeneration processes, N still off and numb in his corner.

J missed the days where her leader title actually had some value. She missed the days where everything was under her control. But for now, all she had to deal with was surviving and not getting into too much trouble with that lady. Despite liking her personality, which matched her own, J had to watch out. Ingha stayed a worker drone after all. And if workers were capable of mischief - like the purple emo brat N was so attached to - then the worst could happen. One could never be too careful.
