The next morning was grim. You all sat there chewing silently on leftovers from the previous supper, not lifting your gaze from the plates of food.

"Good morning, everyone," Shuichi mumbled as he entered.

You all responded in mutters, not wanting to be rude but not wanting to fake your eagerness. Miu only let out a sigh, which perfectly explained how everyone felt.

'Three murders...' You thought. 'Three people died in one day. I didn't even deem that possible. It's so cruel.'

Once Shuichi got his plate of food, he seemed to space out. It didn't last for long, however, seeing as Kaito immediately snapped him out of his thoughts. "What's wrong, bro? You're not gonna eat?"

"If you don't eat, then Gonta will eat you instead, Shuichi," Kokichi teased from beside you.

Shuichi's eyes widened. "He'll eat me? Don't you mean my breakfast?"

You perked up, suddenly reminded of the existence. "Wait, where is Gonta? He isn't here."

"He's probably still sleeping," Keebo said.

Miu let out another sigh, but slightly louder.

"What's the matter, Miu?' You questioned, looking at her from across the table.

She rolled her eyes and sighed even louder.

Himiko stood up abruptly. "Hey, you guys have no energy! You need to look alive, you're all still teenagers!"

Everyone looked at her in surprise. Out of everyone, she was the one trying to lift the mood? It was certainly out of her character.

"Your good mornings are too quiet," she continued. "It's 'cause you're so quiet that you feel down!"

Miu took that as her sign to sigh even louder.

Himiko frowned. "I didn't mean you should sigh louder!"

Maki voiced everyone's thoughts. "...Weird. I thought you'd be the most depressed out of all of us."

"Of course I'm depressed," Himiko replied. "This is the most depressed I've been in all my two hundred million years, but being depressed won't help those who died rest in peace. Tenko and Angie, too. If I stay depressed, they won't be able to rest in peace either."

She jumped up, pumping her fists. "So in order to make their deaths have meaning, I've decided to live my life with positivity!" Once she calmed down, she panted. "So, anyway, please take care...of the new me..."

You deadpanned. "You're already so out of breath."

"But it's just like she said." Tsumugi smiled. "Those of us left need to look to the future and live, for all the others' sakes."

Kokichi nodded. "Yeah, let's cheer up and work hard! This game is just getting started."

You rolled your eyes. Not this again.

"Game?" Shuichi repeated.

"Huh? Isn't that what we were talking about?" Kokichi asked. "But, now that there's less people, I might...be the next victim." He grinned suddenly. "Wow, so exciting! But I definitely don't wanna die. Well, I guess that's the same for everyone else," he laughed.

Kaito glared at him. "You're still saying crap like that at a time like-"

Before he could finish his sentence, Gonta suddenly busted into the room, his breaths heavy. "Everyone! This serious!"

"Oh, no..." Kokichi gulped. "The Colossal High School Girl is on the other side of the wall, isn't she?!"

Gonta shook his head. "Okay, maybe not that serious, but Gonta went to courtyard before coming here."
