Lloyd's POV

"Moonlit walks on the canal. Sharing food. Sounds a lot like a date," I heard Cole say as I walked in. It might've seemed weird, but I really wanted to see them train. The ninja were my heroes, saving the world from dangerous villains. It almost seemed lucky that the SOG were trying to steal the masks since that meant I'd be able to meet them. Of course I knew luck had nothing to do with it.

"It was not a date!" Kai said in irritation. So Kai was the one on a date, huh? I wondered with who. Probably Skylor.

"A date: a social or romantic engagement often involving a meal or an intimate setting," Zane said.

"Haha! Can't argue with a nindroid," Jay said.

"Look if you like this girl, you're gonna have to step up your game," Skylor said. "Like really step up your game."

"What do you mean game?" I asked.

Everyone jumped except for Zane who calmly responded, "It means ones ability to charm."

"Thanks, Zane. Also what girl are you ninja talking about? Wait, don't tell me. I'll guess!" I paused to think. There were three more potential girls. Pixal, who was absolutely not it. Her and Zane were clearly a thing. Harumi, also definitely not. She was to busy with royal duties to deal with romance, plus they just met. And Lillabeth since she was the last option it had to be her.... Even if there were some things making it unlikely. I gasped.

"You're dating my sister!" I exclaimed.

"No. I'm not dating anyone," Kai said.

"He's dating Harumi!" Jay said. And I paled.

"W-What did you say?" I asked, hoping I'd misheard.

"Kai and Harumi went out last night," Skylor said. I chuckled, thinking or should I say hoping, it was a joke.

"Rumi doesn't have enough time for that kind of thing!"

"They had the date at night," Jay said. Rage filled me, and I began to see red.

"Why hadn't she thought of that before?!?!" Everyone blinked.

"You good?" Nya asked. My eye twitched slightly, and I chuckled.

"Yup, just fine! Why wouldn't I be? It's not like I've been trying to arrange a date for months!" I said through clenched teeth. Every single time I'd asked Harumi she'd  shut me down. And I hadn't even called it a date! I'd merely asked if we could hang out, in private, at a restaurant or someplace else romantic. But still!

"W-We're not dating so d-don't worry," Kai said. I gave him a look.

"I've gotten denied a lot less then a moonlit walk on the canal!" I must've been really loud because soon Lillabeth was running in.

"Lloyd, remember your anger management classes," she said, grabbing my arm. I grumbled.

"Those don't work!" She jumped slightly.

"That's different," she said in a startled tone. I blinked.

"What's different?"

"Nothing! Now let's take a breather, kay?"

"No thanks!" I pulled back my arm and began rolling up my sleeves. Not only did he call me a baby, after I specifically told him not to, but now he's dating Harumi! Kai was so going to pay.

"Calm down before you do something you'll regret."

"I'm perfectly calm!" She gave me a look.

"Almost everything you've said has been yelled does that sound like something you'd do when you're calm or mad?" I grumbled.

"Mad. But-"

"And what do we do when we are mad?"

"The breathing exercises."

"Correct. Now do I have to lead you through them or will you-" I grumbled.

"I can do them by myself! I'm not five!"

"Sorry!" She backed up, and I thought I saw slight fear in her eyes. But it was clearly just my mind playing tricks on me.

After a minutes of breathers I managed to calm down, and Lillabeth smiled.

"Good. Now what was this entire thing about?" Lillabeth asked.

"They're dating," I said.

"Who?"

"Kai and Harumi." She chuckled.

"Nope! They literally just met!"

"But the canal-"

"You guys need to stop assuming that anyone who goes on a moonlit stroll's a couple."

"Th-Thank you," Kai said. I think he was trying to sound more sassy about it, but he just sounded scared.

"You're welcome. Now how about we talk to Rumi about this?"

"What were you thinking, Harumi?" The emperor asked.

"You are a member of the royal family of Ninjago," the empress said.

"You can't just go galavanting off with a ninja whenever you want. It's undignified."

"Not to mention dangerous!"

"But he's not just a ninja-" Harumi said. I gasped. Lillabeth chuckled.

"It's probably not what it seems like," she said.

"You are royalty. He is not."

"I'm sorry. I have dishonored our name and our house," Harumi said.

"No, Harumi. We are sorry. We al have a role to play. And yours is in this palace. Your heart mustn't interfere." I sighed a sad sigh. And what was mine? To be the third wheel in the perfect couple?

She ran off, crying. I attempted to comfort her, but she just pushed me away.

"If you know what's good for you stay away from her!" Hutchins said, giving us glares. He always said it when I tried to become more than friends, but now it seemed to not be a simple threat but clarification. We really weren't meant to be.

"Lloyd, don't worry. I'm sure it's not like-" Lillabeth began as soon as he left, but I quickly stopped her.

"It is. Clearly. But we really shouldn't be worried about that. We should be worried about the fact that she's not able to be with the one she actually loves."

"She doesn't love him."

"Stop trying to comfort me! It's not going to work! I know the truth. And I'm done being selfish. I'm going to start supporting them." She sighed.

"Okay...."
