"You haven't answered any of us in like a day," the women cried out, anger evident in the way her words snipped through the air as she continued her rant. "We thought you were kidnapped or dead!"

Damian looked at Luna with wide eyes, guilt building within him quickly at his best friend's concern. Luna didn't know what to do except send him a look of worry, except it was more for his sake because she did not want to be on the other side of whoever was yelling at him. They sounded pissed. He mumbled a curse to himself before cutting off his best friends words.

"Rhea!" He spoke loudly, trying to calm the distressed Australian down over the phone as he cut off her rant. "I'm okay, I promise."

"Then why have you been ignoring us," Rhea demanded an answer quickly, not missing a beat to express her frustration. "Silence is concerning with you, Priest."

Damian felt his hear rate pick up at her words, fearing Luna would pick up on it. His fears were only confirmed when he slightly looked up at her, seeing her eyebrows beginning to crease up in concern and confusion.

Luna felt like she was suddenly invading his privacy, realizing that whatever was supposed to be discussed in this conversation was private. She tried to distract herself by looking off into the distance, focusing on a specific leaf on a tree to hopefully zone the conversation out.

It is a pretty leaf, she thought to herself, almost chuckling at how ridiculous it felt.

"Rhea, I'm so sorry," he replied, sincerity and guilt lacing his voice. "I got wrapped up in work and the island as soon as I touched down. My phones been nonexistent to me."

Work, the word felt thick with venom in her mind as a small pang ricocheted in her heart.

She felt dramatic that she felt even a tiny bit of hurt at his words, but considering what they shared thus far on the trip, their time together felt like anything but work even if that's what it was supposed to be. She knew he didn't mean it like that, but she didn't understand why he was being so short in description with his best friend.

"Priest," Rhea sighed over the phone, her worry oozing out of her with the action. "Just answer your phone next time. Anyways, are we still on for tonight?"

Damian's eyes widened as memories of previous plans he had made with her and the Dominik just days before begun to flow into his mind. His mind has been consumed with Luna and it's almost as if he forgot he had other obligations.

That's kind of terrifying, he thought to himself at the realization. She's addicting.

"Of course," he lied, his voice a higher pitch than usual as he looked at Luna. "When do you guys get to the hotel?"

Why does she look so sad, he pondered to himself but it was cut short by Rhea.

"You definitely forgot," she sighed dramatically to feign hurt, a smile resting her face on her face that was invisible to him. "Whatever, you're lucky Paul called Dom and I in for some last minute interviews. I wanted to tell you that we probably won't be free until around ten."

"That's perfect," Damian said, his eyes remaining focused on the beautiful girl across from him who was looking down, fingers mindlessly twirling the rings she wore.

Shit, his brain began to click at he started to realize why she may be upset. My own words would've impacted me if it was the other way around.

Without letting Rhea get a word out yet and surprising Luna as he reached and clasped his hand with hers, "I'm bringing someone with me."

He hung up, shocking Luna and even Rhea on the other line while pulling himself closer to sit next to her, "I didn't want to share you with anyone just yet."
