Dorothy's POV
"Hi Dorothy." Thatcher tells me with a smile as I enter his hospital room.
"We found a match."
"What?" Thatcher asks me with wide eyes.
"We found a match, a donor liver. So we are going to schedule the surgery for tonight."
"Uh, that's terrific. But I thought I wasn't eligible for the transplant list." Thatcher tells me.
"It is not from the list. It is me. I got tested, and my crossmatch was negative, which means we are an ideal match. So I am going to go get admitted, and we will do this."
"I'm a drunk. I did this. I put myself in this bed. I broke me. I can't. I won't let you put me back together. It's a generous offer. I can't. I can't accept it." Thatcher tells me.
"I am not doing this for you Mr. Grey. I am doing this for Lexie and Meredith. You were there for Lexie and she loves you. As for Meredith, she does not deserve to be in this predicament because you were never there for her. So you will take my liver and make it up to your daughters."
"Thank you." Thatcher tells me with a smile on his face.
"I am not doing this for you sir. But I will warn you that if you ever lay a hand on Lexie again, I will get the FBI to arrest your sorry butt." I tell Thatcher before leaving and walk over to a nurses' station to get myself admitted.
"Excuse me, do you know where Alex Karev is?" A young girl around eleven asks me and I give her a smile.
"He is in a surgery but I can page him for you. I am Dr. Dorothy Robbins-Shepherd."
"Amber Karev." Amber tells me as I page Alex before getting myself admitted to the hospital.
"He told me all about you." Alex and Meredith both walk over to us with Alex putting an arm around his sister.
"I see that you've met my sister Amber. Amber this is another one of my friends Dr. Meredith Grey." Alex says.
"It's nice to meet you Amber." Meredith says with a smile.
"You too Meredith." Amber says before she and Alex walk away from us.
"I'm going to prep you for surgery." Meredith tells me before we walk into a patient room. Lexie walks over to me and hugs me. Hugging Lexie back, I pull away and see the tears in her eyes.
"I will be okay Lexie." I tell Lexie before kissing her cheek.
"I know that. You have gone through hell and are still your positive self." Lexie tells me.
"You are a big reason why I am able to be that way. I love you Lexie."
"I love you too Dorothy." Lexie says while wiping her tears.

Meredith's POV
"Meredith." Dad greets me as I enter his hospital room and walk over to his bedside with my arms crossed.
"Addison gave you the contract?"
"Yes. Does Dorothy know about this?" Dad asks me.
"Not yet. She'll know after the surgery and when she's fully recovered. Unless Lexie and her moms want to tell her before then. There's a reason why she doesn't know right now and that's because of what I'm going to say to you."
"Okay." Thatcher tells me.
"You're the guy who used to pour my cereal in the morning. That's it. That's all I remember about you. You're not my father. You're just the guy who used to poured my cereal. But you're Lexie's father and that's why Dorothy's doing this, for her. But if you go back to drinking and throw the gift that my other little sister is giving you, Lexie and I will never forgive you. Lexie might actually kill you if you drink again and I'll help her. Do we understand each other?" Thatcher nods and I walk out of the room. Cristina is wheeling Dorothy to the OR and I walk beside her to give Dorothy the moral support.
"Addison told me about the surgery you're going to be doing."
"Your wife is really Satan sometimes." Cristina says and Dorothy giggles.
"You wanted a surgery." Before laughing at my best friend's facial expression.
"Yeah, putting a bicycle pump in some old man's junk.... is not surgery. It's punishment." Cristina tells me.
"Tell me about the new people from Mercy West. Please?" Dorothy tells us when Lexie runs over to us and gives Dorothy a smile.
"I promised your moms I'd see you off." Lexie tells Dorothy who smiles back when Dr. Bailey walks over to us.
"This is not how this is going to work. Do I need to find you something to do?" Dr. Bailey asks us.
"No. I have a penis." Cristina says before leaving and Dorothy looks at me.
"Can you take care of my interns for me while I am recovering?" Dorothy asks me.
"Yeah I will definitely do that."
"Thank you." Dorothy tells me before Dr. Bailey wheels her in the OR.
"Dad told me you gave him hell. Thank you." Lexie tells me with a smile.
"Dorothy is my other sister and I'll always protect her."

Amelia's POV
Entering Dorothy's hospital room, I see Dorothy was still asleep and Lexie was asleep with her head on Dorothy's lap. Richard reassured both Arizona and I that Dorothy will still have a job here when she's no longer a patient. This made us incredibly happy because Dorothy gives her all to helping patients here and Grey-Sloan needs people like her. Dorothy's eyes open and because of that Lexie also wakes up.
"Hey. You're awake."
"Where is Mommy?" Dorothy asks me.
"She was here for the entire night angel and so was Lexie. Mommy had to operate on a two year old girl. But she'll be back soon."
"How's your pain? Is your mouth dry? There's water. Are you thirsty? Or I can grab you a hot chocolate?" Lexie rambles to Dorothy who smiles at her girlfriend.
"Have you been sleeping on me all night?" Dorothy asks Lexie.
"Yeah. I went to see my dad for the first two hours and then came back to be with you. He's doing really good by the way." Lexie tells Dorothy.
"That is good to hear. Lexie, you are on my IV." Dorothy says while Lexie gets up and grabs Dorothy some water.
"Addison went to take care of the dogs last night while we stayed here with you. Lily, the twins, Camilla and Finn will be visiting visiting you later."
"Are Meredith and Addison coming too?" Dorothy asks me.
"There's no question that they'll visit you." Lexie reassures her girlfriend before handing her the cup of water.
"Thank you Lexie." Dorothy tells Lexie with a smile.
"No thank you for helping my dad even when he doesn't deserve it." Lexie replies with a smile of her own.
"I would go to space and get you the shiniest star if it made you happy." Dorothy tells Lexie and I couldn't help but smile.
