Chapter 3 - The Human Challenge

Sniffing sessions

Back at the hall, the atmosphere was electric. Students were mingling, chatting excitedly about the upcoming activities. Seokjin spotted Jimin near the front and made his way over.

"Is that a bruise on your face?" Jimin asked as Seokjin approached, his eyes wide with concern.

"Oh, that's nothing," Seokjin said, trying to downplay the situation.

Jimin frowned, clearly not convinced. "Nothing? It looks like someone tried to strangle you."

"Really, it's fine. I just had a little... slip in the restroom," Seokjin said.

"Who the fuck did this to you?" Taehyung's voice cut in as he joined them, his eyes narrowing in anger.

"Do I look like I would let someone hurt me?" Seokjin replied, trying to brush it off.

Taehyung raised an eyebrow skeptically. "I don't believe your 'slipped up' theory either," Jimin said, crossing his arms.

Taehyung tilted his head, looking past Seokjin to Jimin. His expression softened into a look of admiration. "Wow," Taehyung muttered, ignoring Seokjin completely. "Astrobiology?"

"Why, are you planning to switch departments?" Jimin asked, his eyebrows raised with a small smile playing on his lips.

"I would for you," Taehyung said with a grin.

Jimin chuckled, shaking his head. "You're quite the charmer, aren't you?"

Seokjin rolled his eyes. "His Kakao ID is Tae_thealphabear and Jimin's is Jimin_fairy. Can we now please go find our seats?" he said, looking at Taehyung and Jimin, who were flirting shamelessly.

"Alright, alright. Go on," Taehyung said, rubbing his neck as he reluctantly turned his attention back to Seokjin.

Jimin gave Taehyung a playful wink before following Seokjin to their seats. "You know, for a senior, he's not bad. He looks fucking hot and..."

"Please don't finish that. He is my cousin," Seokjin said, shaking his head with a smile.

"Ohh... cool," Jimin muttered, looking between Taehyung and Seokjin.

As they walked towards their seats, Taehyung leaned closer to Jimin. "So, Jimin_fairy, do you believe in magic?"

Jimin giggled. "Why, are you a magician?"

Taehyung grinned. "No, but I'm hoping to make you disappear from everyone else's view and keep you all to myself."

Jimin laughed louder, playfully shoving Taehyung. "You're too much! Seriously, how many people have you used that line on?"

"Only the ones that matter," Taehyung said with a wink.

Seokjin groaned. "Ahhhh... Shit... Why am I here?"

Jimin laughed, nudging Seokjin. "Don't be such a buzzkill, Seokjin."

Taehyung chuckled, patting Seokjin on the back. "Don't worry, hyung. You are gonna have lots of fun."

Jimin smiled warmly at Taehyung. "I think we'll get along just fine, Tae_thealphabear."

Taehyung returned the smile, his eyes twinkling. "I think so too, Jimin_fairy."

"Okay, be seated here. I'll be back soon. I think our Student President will be hosting today. He's the best," Taehyung said, his voice filled with enthusiasm.

"Oh," Seokjin responded, nodding.

Taehyung glanced at Seokjin and added, "You've already met him yesterday, hyung, at the dorm during the fight." He gave a quick wave and said, "Alright, bye-bye," before heading backstage as someone called for him.
