Chapter Ten - The Path To Revelations

A bitter Realization ( Jeongguk: Seokjin)

Seokjin shoved Jeongguk away from his neck with a forceful push, his eyes blazing with anger. “Are you fucking crazy?” he snapped, his voice echoing in the quiet garden. “What the hell is wrong with you?”

Jeongguk stood there, breathing heavily, his mind swirling with confusion of events that happened a few minutes ago. He looked at Seokjin, who was glaring at him, eyes filled with fury and disbelief. The intensity of Seokjin’s stare felt like a physical weight pressing down on him.

“It’s not a mark, you asshole. It’s because of your stupid lip ring. Did you fucking forget about the sparring we had yesterday in the club?” Seokjin continued, his words tumbling out in a heated rush. “Are you that dumb that you can’t differentiate between a mate mark and a bruise? And why the fuck would you even care if it was a mark from Yohan? Who the fuck are you question me?”

Jeongguk’s eyebrows furrowed and he stood there confused, thinking why the hell, the human is lecturing about his damn bruise. Suddenly ,a different, darker feeling churned within him..a disgust that grumbled in the pit of his stomach, making his insides twist unpleasantly. It was a sensation that had been lurking since his make-out session with Jaewan, a feeling he had ignored until now. But with Seokjin’s words slicing through the fog of his thoughts, it resurfaced with a vengeance.

Jeongguk could feel the bile rising in his throat, the nausea becoming unbearable. The ground beneath him seemed to tilt, and he staggered slightly, his hand instinctively reaching for the nearest tree for support.

Seokjin, still fuming, noticed the change in Jeongguk’s demeanor. “What’s wrong with you now?” he asked, his voice a mix of annoyance and genuine concern.

But he couldn’t respond. The disgust was overpowering, clawing at his insides, and he knew he had to get away before he lost his composure entirely. He turned abruptly, the garden spinning around him, and bolted for the nearest restroom, the need to escape overwhelming him.

He barely made it through the door before he stumbled to a sink, gripping the edges tightly as he fought to keep himself together. His breathing was ragged, each inhale a struggle as he tried to push down the nausea threatening to spill over.

“What the hell is happening to me?” he muttered to himself, he ran inside the toilet and shut the door. After throwing up he came back to the sink and splashed cold water on his face in a desperate attempt to regain some semblance of control. The water was a shock to his system, momentarily snapping him back to reality.

Jeongguk stared at his reflection in the mirror, his skin pale and clammy under the harsh fluorescent lights. Water dripped from his face as he tried to steady his racing heart, the sound echoing softly in the otherwise silent restroom. His thoughts were a turbulent storm, and beneath that chaos, a nagging suspicion tugged over him…a doubt he couldn’t ignore any longer.

He tried to dismiss it, but the idea refused to be pushed aside. The feeling in the pit of his stomach was all too familiar, yet unsettling. He thought back to two weeks ago, when he had been with Jaewan. They had been making out in Jaewan's room, undressing each other, the kind of intense, heated session that usually left Jeongguk feeling exhilarated. But this time, something had felt off.

There was a moment when he had pulled back, the same knot of discomfort forming in his stomach, although it hadn't been as strong as now. He had brushed it off at the time, attributing it to stress or fatigue. Now, standing alone with only his reflection for company, he couldn’t shake the memory.
