The hospital room was quiet, and the girl lying on the bed was thin and weak, her long eyelashes trembling.

Jennie opened her eyes.

The faint smell of disinfectant in the air invaded her nostrils, causing her to frown involuntarily.

A person wearing a nurse's uniform was standing by the bed, changing the IV drip. Hearing the movement, she turned her head.

"Mrs. Manoban, you're awake?" She looked surprised.

"I...am I in the hospital?" Jennie remembered that she was still studying in M country and had passed out due to staying up late to do homework.

It should be Zhou Yanshi who brought her to the hospital.

But why was the nurse in this hospital Chinese? And why was she called Mrs. Manoban?

Jennie's confused mind was not enough to figure out what was wrong around her. She tried to sit up with her hands, but found that her calf was in excruciating pain.

"Hiss." The small nurse beside her quickly helped Jennie up and said, "Madam Manoban, you injured your leg, but it's just a minor injury. Rest for a few days and you should be fine."

But Mr. Manoban was a different story.

Jennie asked with some confusion, "Why are you calling me Madam Manoban? And where is the person who brought me here?"

The small nurse became flustered. According to rumors, this couple had a good relationship, so why was Madam Manoban rejecting this title? She obediently answered the second question, "It was a passerby who found the accident and called 120."

"Accident? What accident?" Jennie gradually realized that something was not right and her tone became anxious.

The small nurse furrowed her brows, "Two days ago, you and Mr. Manoban had an accident on Hubin Road."

Jennie's heart skipped a beat. On Hu Bin Road, there was a car accident. Wasn't this a matter from a past life?

She grabbed the young nurse's arm, her voice trembling, "How is Lisa doing?"

The nurse was taken aback, looking at her expression before stuttering, "Mr. Manoban, Mr. Manoban just left the ICU yesterday."

"But you don't have to worry too much. Leaving the ICU means he's passed the critical period. Maybe he'll wake up soon." The nurse hurriedly comforted her.

Jennie felt her eyes welling up with tears in an instant.

She threw off the covers and struggled to get out of bed, "I want to go see him."

"But Mrs. Manoban, you still have an IV in your hand," the nurse exclaimed.

"I'll take care of it myself." Jennie turned around and grabbed the IV bag. She was already frail, and now wearing loose hospital clothes, she looked like nothing but a skeleton. To make matters worse, one of her legs was injured, so she could only hop towards the door of the hospital room.

The young nurse sighed, "Let me find you a wheelchair and take you there."

It was just before sunset, and a few rays of evening light shone into the hallway.

Sitting in the wheelchair, Jennie finally saw Lisa.

He lay on the hospital bed, his already pale face devoid of any color, his body covered in various tubes. The gloomy aura of death seemed to emanate from his body.

Jennie bit her lip, tears uncontrollably streaming down her face.

The hospital room was quiet, with only the faint sound of medical equipment.
