Hey, my lovely fellow Elvis fans! Here's another Elvis fanfic for y'all! It takes place during the filming of GI Blues in 1960. Hope y'all like it!

"No, Brenda, I don't want to go to that party."
My roommate that was from the US like me gave me a wild look as we sat on her bed in the room that we shared in this little apartment in the center of Bad Nauheim, Germany. Her hazel eyes were bigger than I had ever seen them go.
"But this is Elvis Presley's party! You're out of your mind if you don't go. Don't you want to meet one, the most famous guy out there; and two, the guy your dad has been pushing around since '56?"
Pushing around was right. He was pushing Elvis just like he pushed me several years ago. At least he hadn't gotten Elvis to lie and swindle. He did that on his own. I pushed some of my long, wavy blonde hair behind my ear. "I admit that I'm curious, but the whole point of me being all the way over here in Germany was to escape my dad and his controlling ways and be far away from Elvis Presley. And then the guy gets drafted here! Just my luck."
Brenda sat closer to me, her long, brown hair framing her face. She was giving me puppy eyes. "Just go with me, okay? For moral support?"
"But aren't you going with that guy who said he knows Elvis?"
"I'm meeting him there." She clasped her hands together like praying, and she jutted out her bottom lip. "Please? I really want you to come with me. Plus, you said you were curious about him. And don't you want to warn him about your father? Now's the time to do it. You never were able to since you came to Germany since before your father met Elvis."
Elvis and I graduated high school the same year, and I went to Germany straight after that. Elvis became famous two years later. I mulled all this over in my head as I fiddled with the hem of my red sweater, and Brenda was still giving me puppy eyes.
"Oh, alright. But I'm not meeting Elvis."
She squealed and hugged me. "Yay, yay! Thank you! We're going to have so much fun! This party is on Friday, so we have a couple days to figure out what we're going to wear! Gah! We're going to meet Elvis!"
Apparently, she disregarded what I said. Well, it seemed like I had to prepare myself to encounter my father's slave of the past four years.

I didn't want to put in a lot of effort to make myself look amazing for this party. I wore a simple red dress, my hair was down and waving, and I had minimal makeup on. Brenda, on the other hand, went to a salon to get her hair and makeup done, and she wore her best dress, which was green and hugged her from shoulders to knees.
"My heart is thundering," she said as she had my arm, and we were walking down the sidewalk to the house the party was at. "I may faint before I even get inside."
"Hey, if you faint, that means we're going to the hospital instead of this party."
We came to the front steps of this rather average-looking two-story house, and we could hear music and chaos going on inside. Brenda took a few breaths. " I just need to control myself. Can you blame me, though? Elvis is my favorite star."
"He's most girls' favorite star."
She shook her head. "I really can't see why you don't like him."
"I like his music well enough, and he seems like a good person, it's just..."
"He's associated with you father who you're estranged from."
