The Dumb/Amazing School Trip

Chapter 24 - Wow, he's shorter than you Tiny

I read a lot of romance books, and I mean a crazy amount but I never really understood why women went crazy when a boy rubs his thumb up and down when holding hands. I understand now. A warm fuzzy feeling sits at the pit of my stomach with each stroke of Logan's thumb on my cold hands.

 We are heading towards the staircase and other people are also leaving their rooms. "Wow, he's shorter than you Tiny" Logan whispers into my ear as a group of boys leave their room and walk in front of us. A boy in the middle is quite short but not as short as me, I look up at Logan and roll my eyes, gaining a chuckle from Logan.

 We reach the stairs and Logan is babbling about how tall he is and how everyone is just weird. "Also, my sister is really short and it's confusing" he says looking down at me and I laugh. "Logan, how young is your sister?" I ask with an unimpressed look. He holds up 7 fingers making me laugh. "Logan, are you serious? Of course she's going to be shorter!".

He shrugs and I laugh making people in front of us turn around at the loud noise. " Oh hey Little Luna and Logan, '' Daisy says from a few steps in front of her, batting her eyelashes at Logan. She says my stupid nickname but completely ignores me. I wave at her and me and Logan continue to walk down the stairs, I just realize our hands are still holding and I go to pull away.

 "Don't, please" Logan whispers as he tightens his grip on my hands. "Are you guys going to dinner?" Daisy asks Logan as she walks in front of us. Logan grunts out a yes. We reach the bottom of the stairs and Logan tugs at my arm pulling me toward the dinner hall a little bit faster. "Oh my gosh, Logan, wait up" Daisy says from behind us, and yet again she ignores my existence.

 "Sorry but me and Luna have our prize to get to so we need to rush" Logan says emphasizing that I am here. She seems momentarily annoyed before that annoying grin spreads to her face. She continues to follow us to the line of people waiting.

We meet up with Jay, Tim, Graham in line, but no Jack because the greedy boy ran down the stairs and skipped everyone. He is now holding a table for us eating his dinner which is mac and cheese. "Gosh I am so hungry guys" daisy whines from behind me.

 To be fair I forgot she was there as when we went into the line she stopped talking, I was just paying attention to Jay moaning about Jack getting food already. I nearly jump out of my skin when she starts talking about how hungry she is. Jay's eyebrows shoot up and he looks at me for answers and I just shrug. "So guys where are you all sitting?" she asks as she places her hand on Grahams shoulder, it takes him one second to move making her hand slip to her side with a frown.

 Logan laughs from next to me, making me cover my mouth to muffle my laugh. "What's so funny?" Her attention snaps to me. Wow,  now she sees me. The line moves forward and I am up next. "Oh nothing, just excited for our movie night" I say with a sweet smile and turn to the dinner lady. She hands me a tray with a plate of mac and cheese.

 "Thank you" I say and she smiles at me. "What would you like to drink dear? '' the lady asks, she looks like she's in her late sixties and has a wrinkly smile but it's pure. I point to the can of cola and she hands it to me with a wink. "Next" she says as I walk to the side waiting for Logan and the others. Logan walks over with a tray the same as mine. "Were matching" he says as he nudges my shoulder looking at my cola and then back to his. 

I smile, "Does she ever get a hint?" Logan asks and I follow his eyes to Daisy talking to Graham and constantly trying to hold his arm while he keeps moving away into the back of Jay who is just laughing.

"Never, one time she stalked a boy at school for a week even when he told her he had a girlfriend, she has no cool" I say thinking back to when Holly used to tell me about her other friends. That was before we stopped talking altogether, back when we tried to act as close as we were before my dad passed but it was never the same.

He laughs, not long after the others have gotten their food and we go to sit at the table with Jack who's already eaten all his food and now is on his phone. 

"Um boys?" Daisy says and I am pretty sure all of them roll their eyes before turning to Daisy.

 "Can I sit with you?" she says with an annoying high-pitched voice as colour rises to her cheeks and she tucks a bit of hair behind her face.

"No"
