The next morning, the family woke up and started with a balanced breakfast, which they could use for the day.

After breakfast, everyone spread out around the house and went about their different activities. While Kawaki cleaned the kitchen and the dishes, sumire wrote down the most important things for himawari and Inojin.
Tsuki packed a few things for the journey and at the same time thought about a strategy to control his fear. Would that work?

The twins were playing with big cuddly toys in their room at the time.
Tsuki heard this, as their rooms were close to each other.

When Kawaki had finished the chores in the kitchen, he went upstairs and made up the guest room for Himawari and Inojin, changing the bed, the duvet and the pillow. He wanted his little sister and her boyfriend to feel welcome and comfortable here, and that was important to him.
Kawaki also fetched towels for their faces and bodies and put them in the chest of drawers.

After a while, Sumire finished the list and packed the rest of the things in the suitcases so that they wouldn't have too much stress on the day of their departure.

In the afternoon, Inojin and Himawari joined them and moved into the guest room for the time being, they made themselves comfortable and then went downstairs. Sumire showed Himawari and Inojin everything, where they could find things and she also showed them how some things worked.

But that was it for this stressful and busy day, we will visit the family again the next morning.

Sumire Pov

It was finally morning, I could hardly sleep as I was always so sensitive to stress. When I opened mine, it was still dark outside. I looked at my alarm clock and saw that it was only 3am. I turned to kawaki and tried to sleep, I just wanted to fall asleep, but it wasn't working. I decided to get up and occupy myself somehow, then maybe I could sleep on the train, at least I hoped so.
I sat up in bed and looked at kawaki, it was so cute how peacefully he was sleeping.
When I had my slippers on, I went out of the door and closed it carefully behind me. I tiptoed along the corridor to the stairs and went downstairs. Somehow I had the feeling that someone was following me, when I turned round I saw Tsuki. He had his cuddly toy in his arms and was looking at me sleepily.
"Mum?" he whispered.

"Yes?" I whispered back.

"Why aren't you asleep?" he asked in a whisper.

"I can't sleep and you?" I asked, speaking in a normal tone of voice as we were on the ground floor and the others couldn't hear us.

"Me neither..."

"Because you're so worried, aren't you?"

"Yeah..."

I went into the living room with Tsuki and sat down on the sofa, then I put Tsuki on my lap.

"Everything's fine little one, you're safe with me,"

"Thank you mum, I don't know what I would do without you and dad"

"Gladly, if you get really scared on the ship, then we'll do what you used to do every night."

"What did we always do?"

"You listened to my heartbeat, then you slept so calmly and peacefully"

"That's right, I used to sleep on you in the Iron Kingdom"

"Exactly"

Tsuki and I stayed in the living room for a while and talked about the time when it was just the two of us and how much I had missed Kawaki. We reminisced for a while, it was nice to think back to the time when Kawaki and I had our first kiss, when I held Tsuki for the first time or when we fell asleep as a family for the first time.
We had a bad start but a wonderful ending.
