You let out a sigh as you cross your leg, eyes tracking Johnnie as he walks through the crowd, "Am I not being forward enough?"
"With what?" Tara sips their drink and furrows her brows, "Johnnie?"
"Yes." You breathe out, sitting up to grab your cup, "We've known each other since we were kids, T. And for as long as I can remember I've had this crush on him, and now it's just full blown love and I feel like he doesn't even see it."
She stares at you for a few seconds and you scoff, "Sorry. Alcohol is settling in." You laugh, shaking your head as you look around at the full house.
"Flirt with someone."
You look at Tara, "Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of me trying to get Johnnie?"
She shakes her head, "I'm not saying do anything extravagant, like sleep with them." She turns towards you, "Jake. Just go up and talk to him. You both are natural flirts, it'll be sure to get Johnnie's attention."
You tilt your head, "What if he just gets mad at Jake? Thinking I want him and not him?"
"You've known Johnnie longer than I have, y/n. You know what to do."
You chew on your lip as you think, nodding before finishing your drink, "I hope this works."

A few more cups of liquid courage later, Jake is finally alone and you quickly make your way over to him. He turns around, smiling, "Hey, what's up?"
"I need a favor."
He reaches up to touch your arm as he leans in, "What?" You laugh slightly, raising your voice above the music, "I said I need a favor from you."
He nods, "What's up?"
"I need you to pretend to flirt with me."
He laughs, smiling as he tilts his head, "Is this about Johnnie?"
"Yes. I talked to Tara and she said that I need to talk to you, because maybe it'll catch his attention? I don't know."
