Previously on Chapter Eleven:

My expression was serious, I was thinking of numerous possibilities. However, when it came to brute strength, I do not think even all the hashira could take him down together unless he gave up his will to fight. But, he has a hint of humanity left in him, his weakness, and I planned to exploit that to its fullest potential.

Sanemi saw my cold and calculating expression, a side I rarely show. But it's the side I needed to stay alive, and I didn't care if he looked at me as a monster. I'm not going to let him lose his life for me, and I won't die either.

Warnings: None

"Will you at least let me tell Oyakata-Sama?" Sanemi pleaded with me gently. I rubbed my eyes, exhausted from staying up all night.

"Fine, tell him the situation and that I have a plan, but the specifics, I need to keep to myself just in case," I stated. Truthfully, I didn't have all of the specifics worked out, but I knew if I kept intriguing Kokushibo and exploiting his humanity, an opportunity would present itself soon enough.

"That's it? You need to trust us Y/N. You need to trust me!" Sanemi pleaded but I just sighed and turned my gaze up towards him.

"I do! Trust me, I trust you wholeheartedly. But I am being logical about this Sanemi, I can't risk losing you to him, or anyone else when an opportunity to do this without bloodshed is presenting itself in front of me. I'm the only one who can do it, so, give me some more time please," I spoke gently, not wanting to upset him further.

He clenched his fists and took a deep breath, calming himself down before he walked closer to me and carefully placed his hand on the back of my head, kissing my forehead sweetly, causing me to blush softly. He smiled at my reaction, seeing I still had my emotions despite my colder demeanor this morning. "Okay, I'll trust you. But if you need anything or are in any danger, well, more danger, you better call for me, okay?"

I nodded my head as my eyelids were growing heavy. Noticing my fatigue, he picked me up bridal style, causing me to blush more but I was growing too tired to protest more. He brought me to his bed and tucked me in. "Rest. I'll go tell Oyakata-Sama. You had a long night, I'll be back."

I hummed softly as I looked up to him with gratitude in my eyes for his understanding. He gently caressed my hair, tucking a loose piece behind my ear before he kissed me goodbye. "I love you, Y/N,"

"I love you too, Sanemi," I replied sleepily. I was already fast asleep before he left the room.

His POV:

The exhaustion was heavy on her face. I stared at the delicate features of her face closely. Her soft cheeks were now stained with salty tears, her eyes puffy and red, a testament to how many sobs escaped her earlier. Calling me enraged was the understatement of the century.

I started my walk to the Ubuyashiki estate, cursing why fate always had a way of harming those I loved before it took them away from me. I knew falling in love was risky, but I just couldn't help it. I never expected this however, I just hoped Oyakata-Sama had an idea of how to remedy this.

As I approached the estate, I was permitted entry by one of his daughters. Creepy little things.

"Welcome, Shinaguzawa. What brings you here? Y/N is supposed to meet with the master in two days time," She stated in that odd monotone voice while her large eyes looked at me stoically.
