Dan walks down the path, rain pouring onto him. His clothes will be all soaked before he gets home, and it's not even that far.

As he gets home, all he can think about is a girl, from one of his classes. he's known her since forever, but she has never known about Dan. Today Dan had the courage to ask her out, and he did. She said yes, and in four days they'll be going out. Dan's first date. He will need practise, because he has't ever really talked to a girl. That's why he's searching the internet now.

Dan throws himself onto his bed, and starts up his laptop.
Slash my life
"That was not meant to be sarcastic," He says to himself.
It's not the first time he realizes why everyone thinks of him as a freak. He talks to himself, and much more else.

As Dan is taking one of those false quizzes, if his date would be great, or not, a disgusting smell bore itself into his nostrils.
"Ew.." He realizes that it is himself who smells, so he hurries to his closet, to get clothes and a towel.

Taking off his clothes, he is left standing in only his black boxers, which are clinging to his body, because of how wet they are.

*SMOL CHILDREN NO.NOT THAT KIND OF WET. REMEMBER THE START? THE RAIN MADE HIM WET.STILL NOT THE DIRTY KIND. WHO GETS TURNED ON BY RAIN? sorry if you do, I apologize. Let's carry on*

Dan hears a loud bang, and there are small pieces of glass shattered across his body.
He turns around quickly, and sees that the window is broken. In front of him is a girl, with massive white wings. One of them looks like it is broken.

"Sorry, I will fix that." The girl looks at Dan, while he stares at her as if she is an alien.
"Who are you?!" He spits at her. Who wouldn't? She's a total stranger, she's got wings, she broke his window, and is looking at him only wearing boxers.

"My name is-"

"No! Don't you f**king dare! Just.. Get out!" Dan shouts, as he is trying to cover his almost naked body.

"Daniel? What are you doing up there! Who are you talking to?" Footsteps are walking up the stairs, and Dan knows that his mother is on her way.

"Oh sheet.." Daniel isn't allowed to swear, still he does it, but when his mother is near, he tries to only come with punny words, whatsoever.

"Daniel-" His mother looks at him wide-eyed, like he looks at her. "Are you thinking of taking a shower? Maybe you should," She says, waving a hand in front of her nose, as if the room stinks because of him.

"Can't you see her?!" Pointing his finger at the stranger, he finds that she isn't there. Neither is the broken glass. His window is whole again, and seems like it has never been broken.

"Oh, so now you're letting a girl see you naked?"

"No mum no!!" She shakes her head smiling.

"Can't you see that girl- angel?!" Now she smiles more.

"My Daniel have found his one true love, huh? You've got to tell me about her sometime."

Dan pleads for his mum to understand him. "She broke the window!" he points at the window again.

"Daniel it isn't broken. You know what? You're going to see a therapist if you don't stop."

Shaking his head, Dan shouts. "No! No! No no! Muuuumm!!"

"Then stop talking nonsense boy! The dinner is ready in an hour." She walks out, and Dan sighs.

"Come out come out wherever you are." Dan sings sleepily.

"I am here. I never left." Dan stares wide eyed at her, and his jaw has dropped to the floor. Not really though.

"Wha- but, how?! Why couldn't she see you? A-and the window?" Stuttering in confusion makes the girl giggle. He looks so adorable.

"Daniel I am-"

"Don't call me Daniel! Just Dan." He sighs, and again, she giggles. A blush creeps onto Dan's face.

"Well, I'm not just an angel," blushing again, more this time, Dan asks "a guardian angel?" raising an eyebrow.

"You're pretty smart, Dan." She laughs, sitting down on his bed.

"You know, if you don't mind, I'd like to take my shower now, and put on some clothes."

"Of course. Do as you please. Anyways, you can't ignore me. I'll need to tell you why I'm here." Dan nods.

"Whatever." Going to the bathroom and jumping into the shower, Dan turns on the hot water. He doesn't feel like getting into cold water, he rather wants it hot... and awkward.

Dan is going on a date with his crush, that he's liked for so long, and suddenly this gir- angel stops by, and he already blushes when she says his nickname. What's going on?

Sighing, Dan turns off the water. As he steps out of the shower, he steps on something slippery, and his feet slips. Falling on his butt, he shouts "ow! my arse!" He can hear shushes from downstairs.

"Daniel! I don't want these words in my house!"

The towel is clinging against Dan's naked body. Just as he is about to walk out, he remembers that the angel is in his room. So he puts on his clothes in the bathroom.

When he enters his room, after he dried his hair, Dan hears his mother shouting, that "dinner is ready!"

"Coming!" Dan can't see the angel anywhere. Did she just disappear? He didn't even get her name.

"My name is Ruby."

"D-Did you just read my thoughts?!" Dan looks behind him, and he sees that the an- that Ruby has returned.

"Yes Daniel- I mean, Dan, of course. I can read your mind if I want to. But I will need the permission of you, too."

"I never let you read my thoughts!" He shouts angrily, and confused.

"Daniel?" His father asks.

"I'm on the phone!" Dan's family must really think he is weird..

"Not only them, Dan, so do I." She laughs.

"I never let you read my thoughts." He hisses at her.

"Well you might not have said so, but deep in your heart you let me."

"Ugh. I'm gonna puke. Bye." Ruby, huh?

"Who did you talk to, Daniel?" Dan's father asks him.

"Just Ruby."

"Ruby? I've never heard of Ruby. Adrian, do you know her?" his younger brother shakes his head.

"Never."

Dan sighs. Did he seriously just say Ruby? "Yes you did, Dan."

"Did you hear that?! Did you hear it? She said yes you did Dan!" Everyone chokes on their food, but then begins to laugh.

"L o l, Dan." His brother says.

"He must really have fallen hard." Their mother whispers into their fathers ear.

"You don't ever get it, do you?! Ugh!" Dan stands up, after not even taking one bite of his food, and leaves the kitchen.

"Aren't you hungry sweetie?"

"No!" He shouts, laying down on his bed.

"I'm sorry Dan, but only you, can see and hear me." Not her again.

"Oh, yes me, again."

"UGH!"

"Just so you know, I can also talk to you in your mind when we aren't close." Sigh.

"I heard that Dan!"

"So did I!" Dan shouts. A little too loud.

Or maybe too loud. "I think he is talking to his future wife again." his mother says.

"MUUUUM!!"
