"Something's coming!" A male scientist yelled, he was wearing brown pajamas, and his brown hair was unruly ,"The hell are you on!" Another said ,"The end is nigh. Zero event is closer than we predicted." They both stared at each other for a minute ,"Wait, the collider isn't finished yet" ,"Exactly! We need to use plan B." The scientist said, but the other scientist was against plan B, she absolutely despised plan B, whatever it was ,"Shelby, you're expecting a miracle to prevent a cycle of extinction, there must be another way." The other scientist said ,"Don't you get it? Our mission is beyond helping human beings, it's ending a vicious cycle that we are the slaves of." Shelby said ,"But, don't you think that we've already done this?" They were silent, Shelby walked to a strange machine, it looked kind of like an Iron lung, except it had no cavity, It was a cylinder with a bunch of buttons on it ,"When I push this button, you know what will happen." Shelby's hands were shaking ,"We have nothing left to send there." The other scientist said ,"You're wrong, love" Shelby had a concerning look in his eyes ,"No." The other scientist said ,"You know, according to my studies, we will die, but we will live at the same time" Shelby had tears in his eyes ,"The world thinks we're crazy, that the zero event is just some schizophrenic nightmare. We have lost our funding, all we have are two faulty AI, my car, and an abomination! If there was another way..." He was serious about pressing the button ,"If you press that button, every single man-made object will be more than six feet under, everyone will die, the zero event will happen, this is exactly what we need to prevent!" She was not going to let him press it ,"I'll swallow cyanide if you do it." Shelby could not move his hand any closer to the button ,"Then what do we do?"
"Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Let's just live our lives, we still have sixty years left, right?" She said, Shelby looked at her with a disapproving frown ,"Oh." She ran to Shelby and hugged him and pressed the button ,"I get it now, my death doesn't even matter right now. Goodbye, Dr.Shelby. If you meet our son, please, don't call him a-"Everything was gone. He saw her brown eyes and dark hair for the last time, in this incarnation, at least. In each other's arms, they disintegrated, along with every single man made object produced. See you in the next cycle, I guess. Just like they said, entire cities were transported in a far future, but they were underground, waiting to be found. Well, most of them were underground...
The question is, how many passed the test of time?
Thermos' daughter arrived at his store, and the smile on her face turned upside down. She replaced the weak glass anchor with a giant sturdy rock, scanned the area and jumped in the hole in desperation with no hesitation. She was grabbing the rope and letting go continuously rather than climbing downwards.
Thermos had reached the bottom of the hole ,"So that's why it's called the 'Hole of Damned Souls', heh." He walked around aimlessly, until he heard voices ,"So, do you know how long it takes for a human being to starve? eight to twenty one days, but don't worry, dehydration will take us in three." It was an unfamiliar voice ,"Yeah, I know that, smartass." It was Dave! What was the kid he hired doing in the hole? He followed the bickering voices ,"Can you please shut up." ,"Uh, no. Not until you apologize for almost killing me." Dave almost killed a person! What else did Thermos not know about him, was he just hiding his sadistic nature? "I'm sorry, alright? Also, I gotta ask you a weird question ."Dave said ,"What is it?" Hyda was lying down, staring into absolutely nothing, waiting for death to come by ,"Since we are going to die of dehydration, I must ask, what is it that you're wearing?" Dave asked ,"Why are you talking like that?"Hyda felt that his way of talking was a little weird ,"Just answer the damn question." Dave said.
"Well, it's a form of clothing that was quite popular during the early 21st century, It's called a T-" Hyda was interrupted by the shaking of the boulder that had trapped them ,"We're gonna die faster than we thought, nice." She said
