In all seriousness I miss Javier, Dad, and Mom. I wonder how they're doing know that their peacemaker has left?

Javier had always been jumpy and energetic his life and was short on his temper. He had the lowest impulse control, usually getting him into debates with my parents. I hid out in my room while the whole thing played out, until it cooled down and I'd have them talk it out.

There was one week when Javier was in the eighth grade and got into the biggest argument with our parents that he had ever been in. So much so that my parents decided to get counseling for him.

He only lasted a week before it got too expensive.

We didn't get groceries that week.

I wake up with my hair a mess and my pillow on the floor. Shit. My bed is messed up, but I don't feel like cleaning it. I go to my kitchen to brew up a coffee then remember I don't have my machine with me right now. I sigh, put on a different outfit, slide on some shoes, grab my keys, and walk out the door.

I'm in the parking lot by the time I notice my hair is still a mess and grab a brush out of my bag and fix my hair in my phone camera. Good enough.

I press the unlock key with my car and hop into the driver's seat, typing in the directions to the closest local coffee shop. I don't care which one it is, as long as the reviews are good.

All they have close is a Dunkin, so I decide to go there.

In the drive through I order a vanilla latte with an extra shot, because of how bad I slept last night. I kept waking up after hearing the construction across the street. I have no clue what they're building, so I'm going to meet my neighbors at noon and talk about it.

They tried knocking on my door at almost 3 AM to have a "welcome wagon" and I told them to see me tomorrow.

I pay the person at the window, grab my drink, and drive back to my condo.

The traffic is bearable and I get home in ten minutes tops. I close my car door, lock it with the click of keys, and walk back up the winding stairs to my condo. I pull out my house key while connecting my headphones to my phone when I see a bubbly couple outside my house, holding a basket of sweet treats and other assortments of knickknacks.

"Oh, hey!" The woman says, turning around. I wonder how she heard me.

"Hey. Are...you my neighbors?" I ask, taking one of my headphones out.

"Yeah, I'm Jack and this is Ariana, we're here for a little housewarming party!" Jack explains, still with a wide grin.

I realize that they're wearing near matching outfits, Jack wearing a light green polo, cream-white toned khakis, brown loafers, and tortoise glasses that compliment the outfit. While Arianna wears a light green polo, same toned mini skirt as the khakis from Jack, and the same loafers, with white knee-high socks and golden hoop earrings.

I let them inside my house by inserting the key in the slot and turning. I push open the door and the first thing that comes into my sight is the dishes from last night. Shit, hope they dont mind...

I walk over to the sink and place some of the dishes in it. "Sorry about the mess. I wasn't really expecting you to stay for much longer than a minute or two." I say, placing a used bowl that I had used previously for ice cream.

They nod in a sign that they don't mind the mess, and step into my condo.

"Wow, I guess all the condos don't look the same." Ariana mentions, looking up at my tall ceiling.

"Yeah, I didn't need as much room upstairs so they recommended me this one." I don't mention that I had to move condos. Kind of a weird subject for me.

I can barely process that I've completely changed personalities in the span of 42 hours, but I've always seen myself as unpredictable.

"You guys can sit down here." I motion to the small white couch I had placed there a few hours ago, and set down three mugs of tea on the glass coffee table in front of it. Jack places down the basket of treats.

"We've been waiting for someone to move into this condo for years, I guess the previous owner didn't take care of the pipes and there was some leakage that took a while to fix." Jack spills as Ariana nudges him to stop.

"Sorry, he goes on rants a lot." Ariana explains, taking a sip of tea.

There's a bit of silence and sipping tea when I pipe up. "Do you guys have any plans for today?"

"We have to hang out in about in hour with a couple of other friends...I don't think they would mind if you came with. That is if you're free?" Ariana asks, waiting for my response.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm free." I nod, checking my schedule on my phone. "Yeah. I should be able to come over. What time was it again?"

"5:30 PM sharp." Jack says, taking another sip of tea. "But you don't even have to get there right at 5:30, because we aren't leaving or anything. Maybe you should come at 5:45 or something so we can actually set up and it doesn't look like a mess and all tha-"

Ariana shoves him again, with a mock smile on her face.

"We should head out." She says, still with a mock smile. She grabs Jack's hand while standing up, and walks out my door.

I sit there holding the small teacup in my hand, my mouth slightly ajar. What the hell was that? I ask myself, while cleaning off the coffee table. I am not ready for this toxic couple to be next door to me. Well, I'd better not make any other assumptions about them. It's not like I'm all knowing or anything.
