"Kate!" Harvey slightly raises his voice as he attempts to catch up to her. His eyebrow raises as he catches the hesitance she holds to slow down for him. "Hey, hey! Can you slow down for a moment?"
Kate reluctantly slows down.
"You were asleep when I got home and gone before I woke up." He quietly says, staring down at her as she bites her lip. Something he knows she only does when she's uncomfortable.
He feels a pang in his chest.
Shes uncomfortable with him?
"Look, Harvey I'm going to be late for a meeting." She sighs, still not looking him in the eyes.
"Hey, what's the matter?" He steps in front of her as she goes to walk away again. He gently grabs her shoulders. "Talk to me, please." He adds the last part softly. "I'm sorry I got so upset yesterday."
Kate opens her mouth to respond when someone shouts her name. The married couple turn at the same time in surprise.
From a distance Kate sees someone she hadn't seen since her college years.
Harvey's jaw clenches.
Jessica holds a bright smile as she guides the man toward the two. "Harvey. Kathryn. Allow me to introduce you to-"
"Elliot." Harvey grits.
Jessica allows slight shock to mar her features as she raises a brow at the three. "I take it an introduction won't be necessary?"
"Kate's an old friend." Elliot smirks as he holds a hand out. Still in shock Kate hesitantly places her hand in his own and inwardly panics as he kisses the back of her hand. Harvey scoffs, ignoring the warning in Jessica's eyes.
"Elliot was shopping for representation and when he asked me to meet my senior partners I took him on a tour around the office." Jessica explains. "He would be a great addition to the Pearson hardmen family."
Harvey knew what that meant. He has lots of money, we want him as a client.
"I'm starting to think so as well." Elliot says, not taking his eyes off of Kate for a second.
Snapping out of her shock when Jessica subtly elbows her she laughs. "Oh my god! Elliot, it's been years!" She pulls him in for a friendly hug, missing the fury in her husband's eyes.
"Ten years to be exact." Elliot genuinely smiles now.
Harvey's eyes are now narrowed at his wife feeling like he's missing a piece to a puzzle.
While she was two years behind both he and Elliot in law school, he and Elliot graduated Harvard thirteen years ago. Herself eleven years ago.
As far as he was concerned the last time either of them saw him was when he graduated.
