Kate walks toward the elevators in the main lobby when she hears her husband's voice seemingly upset.

"What are you talking about?"

Noticing that Harvey and Mike were drawing a few pair of eyes she calmly walks up to the two with a carefully hidden, worried expression. "Mike, Harv, what's going on?"

"My first day, Louis fired Gary Lipsky for screwing up a case. He said if I did the same thing, I'd be gone just as fast." Mike stresses and Kate can see it took a toll on him.

"Well, you go back to the witness's house and you get her to testify again." Harvey sternly tells him.

Mike shakes his head. "I tried, there's no way."

"There's always a way." Harvey argues and Kate shakes her head at her husband's inability to be comforting.

"Then why don't you go and convince her."

"Because you screwed it up." Harvey rudely points out.

"Harvey.." Kate tries to stop him but Mike snaps at him before she can continue. "Oh and you don't give a damn about the client? Right."

"It's not my job."

"Does your job include giving a damn about me? Because the least you can do is offer to stand up to Louis for me." Mike stresses, waiving his hand around.

"I can talk to Louis." Kate places a comforting hand on Miked shoulder.

"No!" Harvey immediately denies his wife. "Stand up for you? I put my ass on the line for you. But it turns out, you may have had the balls to get this job, but you don't have the courage to stick it out when it gets tough. You've had one foot out the door since you got here."

"Do not snap at me Harvey!" Kate narrows her eyes at him at the same time that Mike says. "What are you talking about?"

"You know what Kate? You're my wife but he's my associate. Do you ever even work because it feels like you're constantly intruding on my cases or on vacation. My work is the most important thing to me, I understand it's not to you but it is to me." Harvey harshly whispers before turning to Mike with fury in his eyes. "I'm talking about that briefcase being locked in your desk. Yeah, I saw it and I know what it is. It's your backup plan in case this doesn't work out. You can make some quick cash and go right back to the life you told me you didn't want to lead. So if you want to quit, go ahead. But this isn't because of Louis, and it isn't because of me. It's because you're afraid you might have to admit that you're not as smart as you think are."

Kate's face drops as he storms away, the weight in her chest getting worse with each day. A scoff on her left brings her out of her thoughts and she looks up to see Mike staring at her. "No offense, Kate. Your husbands a prick and you deserve better."

He starts walking away and she attempts to call out to him but he ignores her and she's left in the middle of the lobby alone.

She enters her floor and marches toward her office without even looking across at her husband's. "Ed, cancel all my meetings today."

Her assistant hesitantly follows her into her office after sharing a bewildered glance with Donna across the room. "Kate?"

The woman in question has her back turned toward him as she leans on the desk staring out of the glass at the bustling city struggling to hold back tears.

"Ed, I need you to do something for me and not tell a single soul about it. Including Donna, especially Donna." She breathes out heavily.

Ed's eyes slightly widen never having heard her sound so upset. "Of course."

Kate hesitates but slowly pulls a notepad out from her locked drawer and holds it out for the assistant.

Edward cautiously takes the paper from her and his eyes widen more and more the further he goes down the written list. "Create individual bank account, re-route paychecks into new account, look for new apartments... hire divorce lawyer? Kate-"

She holds a hand up to silence him as she takes deep breaths to calm herself.

"Kate, what's going on? You know I'm here for you."

Kate grabs a glass and a new bottle of wine, not speaking until her glass is half full. She slowly takes a seat on her chair staring at a photo framed of herself and Harvey. Edward takes a seat across from her.

"I- I think I'm going to leave him." She chokes out. "I don't think I can do it anymore."

"Do what?" Ed frowns.

"Pretend to be happy!" She slightly shouts but immediately lowers her head and voice in attempts to hide her tears. "I want a family, Edward. He promised me years ago that we'd talk about children when he made junior partner and it's been
Five years! He never takes a day off of work, he's forgotten our anniversary the past three years. He thinks I don't know that Donna sends the flowers? After confiding in my father about my troubles he invited us both to his home in London hoping to talk some sense into him and Harvey bailed three days prior because of his promotion. Even after Jessica OK'd him to go. I begged him to come, he said he couldn't leave work." Kate harshly wipes the tears falling from her eyes. "I deserve better."

Edward quickly goes around the desk and pulls her into a much needed hug. "It's okay, Kate. It's gonna be okay."

"I love him so much." She sniffles. "But I just can't anymore. I can't wake up one day in twenty years realizing I wasted my whole life for a man who only gave me empty promises."

"I know, I know." Ed sadly sighs. He meets Donna's worried eyes through the glass and shakes his head in a no manner when she starts to get up.

She hesitantly sits back down, subtly glancing back to her bosses office where he seems annoyed but continues to scribble over some papers.

This was not good.

Not good at all.
